The Jordanian-born Zarqawi was killed when U.S. warplanes dropped 500-pound bombs on his hiding place. Pentagon officials say they later found a "treasure trove" of material at the hiding place, which they believe will help in future operations.

For some sufficiently classified data, the preferred means of destroying a disk drive platter containing that data are incinerating or melting the disk. Shredding the platter to pieces no bigger than a quarter inch is adequate for less sensitive data. Grinding the surface off the platter could work, but is more labor intensive.
Unless the drive was so close to the center of the explosion that we can't find the fragments, I suspect our nameless friends at the National Security Agency can make good use of it.
