Bigleys relieved by Zarqawi death

The family of murdered hostage Ken Bigley have spoken of their relief at the death of militant leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq. Zarqawi, who led al-Qaeda in Iraq, is suspected of being involved in the murder of Mr Bigley, who was taken hostage and killed in Iraq in 2004.
Mr Bigley's brother Stan said Zarqawi was a "monster" who had killed "a multitude of innocent people".
Zarqawi was killed in a US air raid near Baquba.
Ken Bigley, 62, originally from Liverpool, was working as an engineer in Iraq when he was kidnapped in September 2004.
Three weeks after being taken hostage he was beheaded by his captors.
Reacting to news of Zarqawi's death, Stan Bigley said: "I'm glad he's off the face of the Earth, not just for my brother but for all the people he has killed.
"Personally, I would rather have seen him captured and made to stand in the dock and face justice for what he's done.
"If that had happened, I would like to have seen him locked up for life rather than given the death penalty."
The death penalty was "too quick for someone like him", he said.
"But I won't lose any sleep over him being dead.
"I'm not worried that he's gone."
He said he did not think his brother's body would ever be found.
"I hope and I pray they do find him, for my mother's sake, but I don't think they will so this won't make much difference to that."
When asked what his mother's reaction to the news would be, he said his family did not really talk about Ken's death in front of her.
"She thinks about Ken every day, of course, but we try to keep low-key around her."
Another brother, Paul Bigley, told BBC News that his first reaction on hearing the news was that "the world has rid itself of a very evil person".
"The second reaction I think, being a Christian, you know, one should not be very happy about somebody's death.
"But in this particular case, quite frankly, may he rot in hell. That's where the man is.''
He said he hoped Zarqawi's "assistants and associates" met the same fate as soon as possible.

That is a very normal and correct reaction....Michael Berg's reaction will SHOCK the American people because he hates Bush more than the babbarian that sawed off his son'e head.

Sad that a couple Europeans get it and Mike Berg doesn't. I'm sure if it was Bush who had been killed today, Mike Berg would be popping the corks.

Michael Berg is a raving moonbat. I pray and feel sorrow for his soul that is clearly tormented. Poor man.

So I wonder if the MSM will give this as much play as they gave the statement of Berg's father that al Zarqawi's death means nothing.

Nick Berg was in Iraq because he thought his father's rhetoric was worthless.

WABC radio played Mr. Berg saying that he could be happy at the death of another human being even it that person killed his son.
At the least the man ought to be thanking the Lord that this murderer is not here to harm others.

When the Berg story broke, my first reaction was that he must have been CIA or something like that. The narrative of his adventure in the Mid East just gave me the impression that there was more beneath the surface story. I'm just a suspicious little fella.
Then his dad pretty much took over the story. What a nutjob.

"...I would like to have seen him locked up for life rather than given the death penalty."I dunno...what Z is experiencing right now is probably not too comfy. I suspect life in prison would come across as a pretty good deal to him about right now.

"....Michael Berg's reaction will SHOCK"
I saw part of an interview on CNN and the man's face beamed when the cameras pointed at him, like "Ah, recognition at last!" The real motive. Like Sheehan, Berg is pathetic and if the MSM wants to continue to interview the insane, well, there are plenty of mental wards and hospitals to chose from... go knock yourselves out!

The media has been playing up Berg's statement that it "means nothing" but down playing his statement that he doesn't even trust the news that Zarqawi is dead!

There are many Liberals who so hate Bush that they'd give their own son up in the struggle to get him. That reminds me that today I got an email that alleges Cindy Sheehan has yet to put a headstone on her son's grave. If true, it speaks volumes about her priorities.

The family of Eugene Armstrong, who was also beheaded, has expressed gratitude that Zarqawi has been killed.
