A blindfolded Ken Bigley is held hostage by Al-Qaeda militant Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi in 2004. One of Bigley's brothers said he was glad Zarqawi was dead but would rather have seen him face justice for beheading the British hostage.(AFP/Ansarnet/File)

A number of pundits on tv talked about this too -- that maybe it would have been better to bring him in alive. I'm not so sure myself. Fanatics like him aren't going to be all that useful in prison -- doubt he would spill his guts and tell anyone about the inner workings of Al Quaeda and the numerous terrorist organizations. It would have been a waste of time and effort, not to mention the financial cost to keep the guy in jail. And there would have also been the possibility that someone would have sprung him from prison too.

No, I think our troops and the Iraqis did enough. Now he's in God's hands and He will mete out the best punishment.
