According to a Hartford Courant article (http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-ctlaborflap0603.artjun03,0,6858521.story?coll=hc-headlines-local) the State of Connecticut is funding $100,000 for te United Church of Christ convention in Hartford next year.

The executive director for Americans United is Barry Lynn - who is also a UCC minister. So far, Americans United has not responded to any questions about the Hartford Convention despite numerous call and emails.

PLEASE CONTACT AMERICANS UNITED today and ask them to prove they are not partisan by checking on their own director's church.

PLEASE CALL EMAIL OR FAX THEM AS SOON AS YOU CAN.

Just last month, Americans United publicly complained about a Baptist convention in MD that recieved $150,000 from the state (http://www.au.org/site/News2?JServSessionIdr002=5zshigwf02.app13a&abbr=pr&page=NewsArticle&id=8237&security=1002&news_iv_ctrl=1241). Why aren't they at least investigating the UCC convention deal? Is it because their Executive Director is a UCC minister????

Please contact and demand fairness!!!!

Do all their bases belong to us?

I think the correct form of that question is: "Are all their base belong to us?"

Are these the same folks that claim the Federal Budget is immoral because it doesn't give enough to the poor? I always thought it was up to the individual to do the work. Funny how they expect the government to do their work of CHARITY!!

Big deal. I'm sure the state funds a lot of larger conventions. It brings visitors to the city who spend money. Not doing that just because it's a church seems discriminatory against religious organizations.

I don't disagree - but you are missing the point. It's about Americans United claiming to be non-partisan when in reality, they are only using the separation issue against conservative churches. It's time to call them on it.

Them, the ACLU, NAACP, etc. Oh, I get the point. :)
