Americans Don't Like U.N., and its All Limbaugh's and Fox News' Fault!

According to this article in the New York Times, Americans out in the heartland don't like the U.N., and its all the fault of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.

Said Mark Malloch Brown a Briton who is deputy to Secretary General Kofi Annan, there is "too much unchecked U.N.-bashing and stereotyping." He added:

"Much of the public discourse [about the U.N.] that reaches the U.S. heartland has been largely abandoned to its loudest detractors such as Rush Limbaugh and Fox News," he said.

Malloch Brown also took a swipe at US Ambassador John Bolton. As per the Times article:

"Mr. Malloch Brown did not mention Mr. Bolton by name, but he criticized the working strategy that many diplomats have associated with Mr. Bolton since his arrival last August. "Exacerbating matters is the widely held perception, even among many U.S. allies, that the U.S. tends to hold on to maximalist positions when it could be finding middle ground," Mr. Malloch Brown said."

If Malloch Brown is correct, sounds as if Rush and FNC are doing something right!

Hey, Malloch Brown - I AM Middle America and guess what? I don't need Fox or Rush to show me just how feckless AND corrupt the UN is. In fact, if it weren't for the opportunity to keep our enemies close so we can keep an eye on them, I'd be happy to see the entire UN relocated just outside the 3 mile limit in the Atlantic.

Foreign aid...

We should get rid of the policy of giving out foreign aid. Instead, if a country needs monetary aid, let them lease territory to us for 99 years, or some such thing.

We don't need Rush or FNC to know the UN is a bunch of A-holes.

I've had nothing but contempt for the UN long before Fox News and long before I ever heard of Rush. The UN is useless and corrupt. Who in their right mind could respect this worthless and costly organization.

Thanks for posting this article.

Maybe the UN representatives need a little xanax and then turn off Rush Limbaugh and Fox.

The UN is useless

No it isn't. Its very good at looting money from the American people. Its terrific at undermining America. It has all the subsystems in place so that when the neocons decide to switch us over to global government, it'll be a turnkey operation.

There's just so much evidence of UN fraud, failure and corruption out there it's hard to cover it all. There are a couple of other things I wanted to include but can't find stories about.

One forgotten event that I believe was largely responsible for the blow up in Somalia that ended with dead Americans. It was the fact that UN peacekeepers had tortured a child by literally roasting him over a fire.

The other was about starving people rioting in the streets outside some kind of world food conference as the people inside glutted themselves on fillet mignon, lobster, and fine wine.

I agree that this only lends more credibility to Fox for presenting the entire story. As we all know the UN isn't a bastion of honesty and corrupt free operation.

The middle ground got us 3,000 killed.
