June 7, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Conservative rabble-rouser Ann Coulter created an uproar among 9/11 victims' families yesterday after she charged in her new book that a group of "self-obsessed" politically active widows are enjoying their husbands' deaths.

The razor-tongued blond polemicist made unflattering remarks about the high-profile widows who liked to call themselves the "Jersey girls." In Coulter's latest book, "Godless," she calls them "harpies" and the "Witches of East Brunswick."

The "9/11" widows lost their privacy when they entered the political arena to bash Bush and to laud John ("I served in Viet-Nam") Kerry. Right on Anne!!

For years liberals have relied on a strategy of faking out the American public in order to win elections. Instead of accurately articulating their beliefs and engaging in an honest debate, they scour the nation for the perfect patsy. A hysterical mother who is willing to go on national television and call the President a "furor" and "evil maniac" is akin to seeing the stigmata. Liberals' ecstasy over Cindy Sheehan, Max Cleland, and the widows who made a spectacle of themselves in the midst of the 9/11 Commission epitomizes their secret weapon for winning back America -- a doctrine of infallibility in which victory goes to the most hysterical.

As Coulter writes:

Finally, the Democrats hit on an ingenious strategy: They would choose only messengers whom we're not allowed to reply to. That’s why all Democratic spokesmen these days are sobbing, hysterical women. You can't respond to them because that would be questioning the authenticity of their suffering. Liberals haven't changed the message, just the messenger. All the most prominent liberal spokesmen are people with "absolute moral authority" -- Democrats with a dead husband, a dead child, a wife who works at the CIA, a war record, terminal illness, or as a last resort, being on a first-name basis with Nelson Mandela.

Like Oprah during Sweeps Week, liberals have come to rely exclusively on people with sad stories...

I'm sorry. All the 3000 that died on Sept 11th were victims, not heros, even though there were heroics among them. The tragedy that affected the whole nation has been forgotten by too many who realized the global war that had been simmering and exploded on that bright sunny morning.
True, these women got together to push Congress to investigate any possible shortcomings that MAY have contributed to the tragedy, but to continue to use the blood of their husbands to further a POLITICAL agenda, promote themselves as the ones who have suffered the most, and contribute to the Bush bashing, is unforgivable.
The other families should point out that these women are just what Ann called them, harpies.

Coulter made headlines in the past when she called for blowing up The New York Times Building, advocated forcing Muslims to become Christians and wrote an entire book that said every American liberal is guilty of treason.

There is no conservative man on TV or Radio that would stand and fight for what they believe in like Ann Coulter does. All the TV conservatives will cower at the first sign of pressure and Rush hides in his little studio refusing to take on anyone face-to-face and Hannity is a self-absorbed little blowhard who will only face known minor league idiots in order to prop himself up.

You could tell that she was threatened by Ann, due to the fact that Ann is smarter, prettier, more Conservative, and the fact that Ann was attacking the anti-American, POS, 9/11 Commission's "Useful Idiots" for their subversion in the name of their dead family members. Edie has far too much empathy for those types, and it shown on FnF's this morning... bigtime.

Well, there's no accounting for taste. I happen to think ED Hill is much more attractive than "Bones" Coulter.

Certainly the Jersey Girls are overstaying their 15 minutes, but to call them "witches" or "harpies," and asking if their husbands weren't planning to divorce them is really over the top. At least they were married, with children, unlike Coulter, who can't seem to snag a man on a bet.

The Coulterites love this red meat, but this goes in her pantheon of describing Harriett Miers as a "cleaning lady," and her entreaty to force Muslims to convert to Christianity.

Coulter makes her living being low class and mean. We ought to be able to do better than looking to this banshee for any kind of conservative wisdom.

BTW, your post, with the "POS" epithet, fits right in with Coulter's toilet-bowl approach to other human beings.
