June 7, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Conservative rabble-rouser Ann Coulter created an uproar among 9/11 victims' families yesterday after she charged in her new book that a group of "self-obsessed" politically active widows are enjoying their husbands' deaths.
The razor-tongued blond polemicist made unflattering remarks about the high-profile widows who liked to call themselves the "Jersey girls." In Coulter's latest book, "Godless," she calls them "harpies" and the "Witches of East Brunswick."

They all have the right to state their views. Some will conflict with each other. My point was only that they have no special authority other than on the topic of having lost someone on 9/11.
I didn't forget where I am... Maybe you forget you're not in an echo chamber, you're in public here.
I'm not pro-illegal. I'm pro-reality, like Mike Pence.
Malkin is ridiculous, devoting an entire book in praise of FDR for imprisoning Japanese-Americans behind barbed wire during WWII.
Rather than being ashamed of herself for that, she proposes we do the same to American Muslims.
Who can take her seriously after that?
Liberals love Coulter the way conservatives love Michael Moore. The poster child for how the other side is scummy.
The point Breitweiser was making is that Ann Coulter wouldn't have the guts to say that her Mom was enjoying her father's death directly to the daughter. She wasn't changing the subject.
And that is what is wrong with the allegation that Breitweiser, or any of these 9-11 widow idiots, is "enjoying their husbands' deaths". It is too easy to refute as hyperbole, and it hurts everything else she says on the subject which is all true.
Plus, these opportunists get to play victim once more.
, about three widows who get mixed up with the devil, was exactly on target.
I remember some of the charges those shills made when they were campaigning for Hanoi John.
They have it coming, and far better coming from a woman. As you can see, we're called "catty" for a reason.
We agree on this. And I think having radicals around is a good thing.
What I am proposing is that "our side" cannot all be attack dogs. We need some "pursuaders". We need Jeffersons and Washingtons to go along with our Henrys and Paines. We need Lees to go along with our Stonewall Jacksons. We need Reagans to go along with our Goldwaters. If we work together, we would be an awesome team. You guys keep the dem attack dogs distracted, and some of "us" will inspire the rest of the nation to follow us. Let's work together and turn the country aound 'K ?
vapid or rapid?? :-)
Not too many of the first, lots of the latter!
I meant vapid or rabid? ...
You said, in part: Coulter includes gratutious swipes at people so she can sell books. She dragged in the Jersey Girls for a headline, even though they have nothing to do with the subject of her book.
That's the way Coulter works.

I agree. Coulter is an author. She is in business to sell books. Any benefit to the conservative cause is icing on the cake, any detriment to the conservative cause is spit on that cake. She doesn't care. She is in it for the cake, just as are most politicians. The postions they take, with a sad few exceptions, are taken in order to benefit politically. Those who take positions based solely on their convictions are difficult to find, often because they lose elections. This is true of dems and republicans, and is certainly true of the "Jersey Girls."
I think you are wrong. There were many who died in the attacks who were absolutely the epitome of heroism; if you read an accounting of their actions that day I can't understand how you could come away with any other conclusion. The firemen who were still trying to help people out of the buildings when they fell, the policemen, the court officers, and others, who worked nearby and could have walked a few blocks north to safety, but instead rushed into the inferno; and the one whose name still makes me want to stand up and salute, Vietnam veteran Rick Rescorla. Not all the victims were heros in that sense, but many were.
Well said. BUMP!
Sometimes you just have to let stuff go. Most conservatives have, but Coulter insists on posing an attack on widows--this will not work, and she knew it wouldn't work, but she knew you'd buy the book because she said it.
Kerry is making the same mistake with the Swift Boat vets. He won't let it go.
I am well versed in both the Jewish experience here in America and in Israel. You are right!!! My piece is only for shock value written for the multitudes of liberal Jews, liberal Gays and liberal Blacks that are living in total denial of the real world functioning around them. There are many American Jews that are quite conservative politically, more than you and I give credit for. However, there are many American Jews like Barbra Steisand, Jon Stewart, Stephen Spielberg, etc. that are so brainwashed, they can't see the forest for the trees. Without going into detail, I have also worked very closely with both the IAF and the IDF in Israel, and these dudes have their act together. They, like, the Indians in India have the real skinny on Muslim terrorists. Sad to say most American Jews that are Democrat, liberal, left-wing and living in denial do not see the critical path danger that will befall them and their children. If David, Moses, Gideon, Josha, Abraham, etc. were anything like Democrat American Jews, there would be no Jewish race today. End of story!!!
Thanks for posting that article... I am going to amazon.com, not passing "GO" and ordering her book.
Well than we agree on something I too like Pence's stance on the subject.
She fights fire with fire and then some. You seem to have acquired liberal PC sensitivities lately, except of course for the annual priest bashing.
Fair enough. The IDF and IAF are right up there with our own excellent military, from what I understand.
You are putting words in our mouths. Neither of us said, or implied, any such thing.
AC's rhetoric pulls no punches; that you fellows do, displays an unseemly attempt to put your brothers (and sisters) in arms down by trumpeting how goo-goo you are. As Homer Simpson said: "BOR--ING."
Listen, buster. This website is open to pit bulls, and labradors. The fact that the American public prefers labradors to pit bulls ought to tell you that Coulter's vitriol is for her red meat audience only. She is not considered a serious person by most Americans, and lots of conservatives.
