A white woman said she was in shock after a black man threw a 10-inch chunk of concrete at her sport utility vehicle in what police were labeling a hate crime.
Kim McCandless, of West Islip, was driving to the Sunrise Mall in Massapequa on Monday with her two daughters, a niece and a nephew, all between 7 months and 4 years old, when the concrete struck her windshield. No one was injured.
McCandless said she made eye contact with the attacker before he threw the concrete.
"I was in shock," she said. "I didn't understand why. Why me, why my kids, why my car?"
Carl Graves, of Amityville, threw the concrete at the SUV because the driver was white, Nassau County police Detective Lt. Karl Schoepp said. Graves and two friends were in the mall for a couple of hours Monday morning and were upset that the arcade and the movie theater were closed, Schoepp said.
He said Graves, 20, told police "the mall had become too white."
McCandless said she got out of the car, wanting "to scream," and checked on the children, who were crying. She said the men laughed as they walked away.

When I was 9 or 10 a group of black kids were throwing rocks and bricks at cars. One of them bounced a rock off of our car when were drving from my grandparents. My dad was driving, my mom was in the front passenger seat and the 3 of us kids were in the back.
After the rock hit us, my dad spun the car around in the middle of the street, blasted up the sidewalk and scattered the kids to the four winds. I always wondered if that was an educational experience for the kids.
If that is the perp, their types are in court every day.
It is amazing how "a moral" they are.
When you speak to them, they have no concept of consequences or right from wrong. The world "owes" them, and you can't stop them no matter what you do.
But for "three strikes laws" those type will eventually kill someone.

Fear is a great incentive to develop "good" habits.... an animal learns... I do X and I get my @ssed beat... I do Y and I don't get a beat down....

That's the problem with probation and multiple chances... bust somebody and make it not worth the crime then they'll either adjust or get taken out of society.
That's another thing. I don't have a problem with over a million men in prison... if you commit crimes like murder, rape, child molestation, kidnapping, that's where you belong and should rot in a stinking hole till you die to prevent you from spreading your filth..... or move to New York or Cali where the libs can coddle you and persecute the law abiding citizens.
I grw up in South Jamaica. We had a few.
it's sad that law abiding citizens fear conflict. That's what evil people, bullies, and criminals bank on.
They bank on that 1-2 seconds of hesitation when confronted. When they pounce or attack, you're either a victim or a hunter.

My daughters have been trained if somebody grabs them by the throat to NOT PULL AWAY but to close and use their knees, elbows and teeth if they can't get their gun. To never leave a parking lot but to fight and die right there, cause they're gonna die anyway.
This punk threw the rock cause he saw it was a woman with a bunch of kids. It wasn't cause she was "white"... You noticed he didn't do jack to any MEN that were white.
Whoever her husband, brother or sons are need to track this punk down and crater his head in with a bat. Maybe a couple of months of eating with a straw will wipe that stupid smirk off his face.
What a big proud black man attacking a woman with a bunch of kids under six years old, cause the mall was "too white"..... He should be really proud for protecting his "turf".

this is an example of street justice.... it's actually cheaper than juvenile hall and clears a lot of flotsam and jetsam from society.
If only their aim was more accurate I'd advocate a free fire zone somewhere.

At first I thought you were referring to the kids in the back seat...that they learned from Dad how to deal with bad kids. I straightend out my confused mind in my next thought. LOL

The Germantown/Mt. Airy kids apparently knew why they were targeted. In Southwest Philly, they resented my very existence, I suppose.
Not necessarily, IMO. The shock and rage she experienced probably triggered her action. Maybe it could be rightfully called temporary insanity!
Nevertheless, your advice to get away asap makes perfect sense. Report it to police pronto and seethe later.
I think they fear spending time in the slammer for taking the law into their own hands. Or, on a much lower scale, getting ticketed because, even though they looked both ways and KNEW there were no oncoming cars, they STILL honor those stop signs the township liberally installs, many times just to curb speeding.
Of course we have the right to defend ourselves! That has nothing to do with vigilante justice. And although it doesn't square with my religious education, I admit that in some instances, where there is no doubt that someone is guilty and the justice systems ignores this or gives a hand-slap, the culprit deserves a working-over by citizens willing to take it into their own hands.
LOL!
