Those went heavily for Busby, she went up 323 votes in only a 4.8% set. Ten more of those and Busby will be in the lead.:)

I understood that to mean the results for state wide. As far as I know, the 50th is ok.
To: blogblogginaway
Why are there also congressional primaries listed with Bilbray and Busby running? Didn't those primary elections happen a few months ago? That seems odd that those elections are listed as part of today's election.

The Constitution provides different processes for filling Senatorial and House vacancies. If there are less than two years left in a Senate term, the Governor appoints someone to fill the remaining time. More than that, and there is a special election for a Senator.
For the House, by contrast, the vacancy is filled only by a special election. That election is held only if the vacancy occurs a specified time before the regular election. Witness Rep. Tom Delay (R-Tex.) timing his resignation from the House late enough so there was no special election there.
P.S. info. My primary is over, but because of legal and ethical problems, the incumbent may withdraw/be forced out. He is also losing in the latest poll (5/28) to the Democrat challenger. I seek to be the replacement nominee. For more information see my website. I still need your help.

Well how can they have both elections in one night? How do they know who's going to win the primaries and advance on to the special election? How were Bilbray and Busby selected for the special election? This makes no sense to me.

It sure would have helped if he could have gotten the nearly 5% the Independent has garnered!
Why does California allow all these nonsensical little "parties"?

Why does California allow all these nonsensical little "parties"? CA election laws are very liberal (pun intended).
A porn star and a has-been child actor ran for Governor. Go figure.
