Over the weekend, Canadian authorities apparently smashed a frightening plot involving Islamic terrorists who planned a series of bombings against sites in southern Ontario. Instinctively, the mainstream media went into its now-familiar coverage template, Phase One of which avoids like the plague any mention of the fact that accused terrorists are Muslims. As Cliff May and I noted here on NRO, and Roger Simon detailed on his website, readers of the New York Times were told that the 17 men arrested “represent the broad strata of our society … Some are students, some are employed, some are unemployed.” In point of fact, however, they represent a very narrow stratum of Canadian society: They are Muslims, many of whom attend the same mosque, the Al-Rahman Islamic Centre for Islamic Education in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga.

I certainly appreciate the points made in this article, but, speaking for myself, I don't need to be told they're Muslims. As soon as I read or hear "plot to bomb [fill in the civilian target here]," I know they're islamofascists.

The Canadian police CAUGHT them? Maybe they weren't trying too hard to hide.

A half dozen people were killed every year on 3-wheel ATV's, so they were banned from the market in the US.
You can no longer smoke outside on a sidewalk in a lot of places for fear someone walking past may get a whiff of smoke.
Yet this looming threat of mass destruction and murder (Islam) is allowed to fester and breed while being protected by the PC.
Liberalism, not Islam, is currently the single largest threat to the American way of life. The parasites could not survive without the host.

Just in from the blogosphere- the picture says it all:

Toronto Star: Hard to Find a Common Denominator

LGF reader WriterMom emailed a scan of page A3 of Sunday’s Toronto Star, featuring a classic case of willful blindness:

Muslim Women? "Little Penguins in Bondage..."

"Just try walking into an American courtroom with your hat on. Bailiffs exist to tell people in no uncertain terms to "take your hat off!"  To think they allow these "women" to go into a courtroom in their ghost outfits just blows my mind. "

UPDATE at 6/5/06 6:04:17 pm:

Here’s the online version of the article: The ties that bind 17 suspects? (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

Your post is one of the best I have seen on the subject.

If we are not vigilant, liberalism will kill us all.

"Little Penguins in Bondage..."

"A-Rin-nin-nin-nin-nin-nin-nin-NAHHHHHH"

That's a Zappa reference that I've never seen at FR. ;-)

The religion of peace!?

Why is islam and their prophet mohammad (fleas be upon him) involved in most of the world's conflicts? The Phillipines, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Afghanistan, any other 'stan, Sudan, Israel, France, Germany, Holland, Great Britain, Russia, Canada, The United States of America, Mexico, ..., just to name a few.

Oh, I forgot it's Bush's fault.

Truly, a barbaric religion for a barbaric people.

Last night on Glen Beck's show there was a very interesting new spin on Islamic Terrorism, offered by the inventive spokesman from some Muslim group whose name I can't recall.

In essence, his one-note argument was that we (kuffars and infidels) should not use the term "Islamic Terrorism" or "Islamic Terrorists" because it gives tacit legitimacy to the desire of terrorists to be identified as Islamist Terrorists.

The spokesman did not say what they should be called. Perhaps the NY Times can help him with a neutral identifier.

Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were Muslims? News to me. Whether or not they were working with Muslims, seems to me they were home grown nut cases.

If we are not allowed to talk about the problem, we will not be able to solve it.

What a good point!

We regulate tobacco, because it kills, yet we still allow mosques, and the presence of islam.

I *never* thought about it this way before!

What a great arguing point ...
