Amber Alert Issued For Lubbock Baby
KAMC TV ^ | 6/5/06

Posted on 06/05/2006 10:00:20 AM PDT by hispanarepublicana

An amber alert has been issued after a Lubbock police say a four-day old child was taken from her parents. Priscilla Nicole Maldonado was taken from her home around 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the 2200 block of 46th Street by a woman who claimed she was a nurse.

Priscilla was born Wednesday at UMC. While at the hospital, a woman identifying herself as Lisa Stewart came by the room several times and checked on the baby and visited with the child`s mother, Erica Ysasaga. According to the mother, Stewart was wearing scrubs and gave the appearance of being either a nurse or a nurse`s aid.

On Sunday, the woman visited the mother and child at their home. Police say Stewart was holding Priscilla and walking outside with Erica. The mother was distracted by another child and turned to take care of that child. When she turned back, the suspect and Priscilla had disappeared.

Immediately after Erica realized that Priscilla and the woman was gone, she saw a white van and a red Pontiac Grand-Am leaving the area south on Avenue W from 46th Street. Police are unsure if the vehicle were involved, as they were the only vehicles in the area at the time.

Police say the suspect is a white female, 30-40 years of age, 5`3"-5`6", and 140-150 pounds. The woman has brownish/blond hair pulled back in a clip. Police say the woman was last seen wearing a red dress with yellow sunflowers. Police believe that Lisa Stewart may be an alias.

It is unknown at this time if the woman was an actual employee of UMC.

Anyone with any information on this incident is urged to call Crime Line at 741-1000 or Sgt. Scott Farmer with the Lubbock Police Department at 775-2793.

On an unrelated note, I was reading a news article this weekend or something that there are actually some expectant mothers with 6/6/6 due dates out there who plan to name their children "Damien".
I believe if my child were due tomorrow, I'd have been induced today or yesterday.

I heard on the news last night that the FBI has become involved. Is that routine for child abduction cases, or do they think there are special circumstances?

no health care professional "visits" you at home

It is a strange concept, but they in fact *do* visit you at your home. Shortly after my wife had our first daughter, a "lactation" nurse came to our home to make sure we were doing everything right. It was pretty awkward, and we both resented her being there. We went along with it, though, as we don't want any "flags" on our records.

This baby suffers from jaundice, according to the news. I was always taught that a newborn shouldn't leave home for 2 or 3 weeks after bringing the baby home, so if it needed medical care or blood work, I would hope there would be a way to get a "house call".

I have just heard they are telling hospitals in El Paso to watch for this lady who they think has the baby.

Routine in stranger abductions, Lindbergh Kidnapping Act makes it a federal crime.

I think FBI is always called in to work a kidnapping.

or was a casual plaything.

I just read where Hell, Michigan, is having a big 666 festival tomorrow, complete with 666 t-shirts and mugs for sale. I'm posting a similar thread in a few.

Yes, it is, particularly when you read this, that I just snipped from a thread I started. This baby was 4 days old yesterday, which would mean it was born June 1. I honestly did not know the following when I posted my fear in post #14 above.

~snip~Last year, several reputable news agencies reported that a newly discovered fragment of the book of Revelation reveals that the mark of evil is off by 50. According to WorldNetDaily.com, scholars in England were using an imaging process to examine the sacred text when they made the 616 discovery. "Scholars have argued for a long time over this," a professor told Canada's National Post, according to the World Net Daily's Web site. "And it now seems that 616 was the original number of the Beast." Similar storyline. The moons lined up just right, a baby with a "mark" was delivered and the doctor and nurse "couldn't save the mother" and they raised the baby.

Govenuh Ahnold was in it.

All the hysteria ,surrounding that day is scary in and of itself.

The devil is way more subtle than he comes off in horror movies.

Tomorrow will be an unlucky day to wear black.

Also not a cool choice since it will be 103 here tomorrow, and black would be hotter than, well, hell.

Yikes, I didn't even think about that stuff. Lots of prayers for this baby. And the family. There are so many wackos out there.

Maybe so. My husband and I were 19 and 20 when our first child was born, and people always thought we were much younger (I look back and photos of my husband at the time and he did look about 15!).
