Bipartisan Coalition Thwarts GOP Majority by Mike Franc Posted Jun 02, 2006
Lack of Debate Fuels Rush to Amnesty
Congress Must Weigh Cost of Amnesty
Earlier this year, moderate Republican Chris Shays of Connecticut speculated openly about how his role in Congress would change should the Democrats regain control of the House in November. "If I'm in the minority," he mused, "I'll be one of the most powerful members of Congress."
Indeed, Washington's pundits have begun fantasizing about what a left-leaning Congress controlled by uber-liberals such as Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi would mean, not just for Mr. Shays, but for all of us. But the dirty little secret is the liberal faction on Capitol Hill already outnumbers the conservative forces on many crucial issues, including immigration reform, energy independence, reasonable environmental regulation, health reform and federal spending. Late May offered two distinct and disturbing glimpses of what might become everyday reality should Democrats regain control.
I submit that "GOP majority" is an oxymoron.
Maybe not an oxymoron, but majority in name only (MINO?)
The prominence of RINOs in the Republican Party means that conservatives get blamed for the consequences of leftist governance. Note the willingness of RINOs to ally themselves with the left before conservatives, and their willingness to betray their own Party.
Note also that they scream "Party unity" only when they are the nominees, but betray conservatives when they win a primary. To advocate these people as Republicans because "they can win" is a betrayal the very reason for having a party in opposition to the left, a betrayal of everything the for which the Republican Party nominally stands.
"As far as the Presidency, It will take a long time before America realized that this President will be the greatest President of all time."
Surely you jest? He will be seen as the President that tryed to turn the USA into the North American Union as a counter to the EU. Does that make him great in your eyes?
How doe those pushing for Republican defeat in November here feel about this?
What do you care, you hate RINOs. The general consensus of the self-annointed "true conservatives" is that the RINOs need to get out of the Republican Party.
You can't have it both ways.
BTW, RINO's is spelled RINOs.
Ahhhhh, but they are better than the alternative, nichts war? < German for "not so"? >
I hope that if that does happen, it's the RINOs who lose their seats rather than conservatives!
Looks like I need not reply to your comment. The uniformed and leftist speaking points speaks again.
Look at RINO Shays once again bending over backwards to get the Democrats a majority. Freepers in his disctrict should give the man his wish and stay home and let him be replaced by a Democrat honest about his party affiliation.
The "Right Honorable A$$HOLE Chris Shays" is expecting mucho gusto power when Democrats take over the Congress int he fall.....What he can expect is the same treatment that traitors everywhere get...stabbed in the back by the scorpion Democrat....what a goddam fool.....
"How doe those pushing for Republican defeat in November here feel about this?"
I don't see many pushing for republicam defeat, just defeat tha RINOs.
"What do you care, you hate RINOs. The general consensus of the self-annointed "true conservatives" is that the RINOs need to get out of the Republican Party."
I don't hate RINOs, or anybody else. I just have zero respect for them because they are just rat wannabees.
They do need to leave the Republican party.
"The uniformed and leftist speaking points speaks again."
Exactly right, and as usual spoken by RINOs.
