Toronto, Canada (RSN)- Canadian Police foiled a terrorist attack on Canadian Soil, say the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper released a statement saying "These individuals were allegedly intent on committing acts of terrorism against their own country and their own people,"

Soon after the announcement, The American FBI said the arrest seventeen may have had contact with two men recently arrested in Atlanta, GA on terrorism charges. RCMP Commissioner Mike McDonnel said that the arrested had the capacity and the intent to attack Canadian Targets.

Syed Haris Ahmed and Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, the terrorists from Georgia who are also U.S. citizens, were arrested in March.

I imagine the details will be forthcoming pretty soon once these mopes are formally charged and the trials begin.

It's just as likely it was the other way 'round. Our friends in Canada do occasionally get things right as evidence by the last election.

Well, I certainly hope there was no domestic spying on these two, violating their right to privacy and all.

A very good story about this is here:

There is MUCH more information in this story by reporter MICHELLE SHEPHARD by 1AM this morning. It seems she had foreknowledge of this bust and kept her mouth shut. Kudos to her.

It also points out the absolute need for LE to have the tools to discover these terrorists before they strike. Let's hope that the politicians continue to give them the tools, and that judges don't take them away.

They travelled north to a "training camp" and made propaganda videos imitating jihadists who had battled in Afghanistan. At night, they washed up at a Tim Hortons nearby.

Wasnt a Toronto Tim Hortons bombed only a few months ago?

Hey Canada, Your welcome.

Actually, It appears to be the other way round. But, thanks anyway, eh?

To be perfectly honest, Canadians are a little more concerned about the Stanley Cup Finals right now than a bunch of inept suburban malcontents trying to pretend to be Arab terrorists.

Well, I certainly none of their phone records will be searched because it might invade their privacy or that of someone with whom they may have called.
