This is my first vanity, so please indulge me.
Dixie Chicks tour tickets went on sale today to the public in many market and it's starting to look a disaster, especially in the Red States.
There were initial indications that internet pre-sale ticket sales were going badly last week, but this confirms the news.
A review of seat availabilities on Ticketmaster indicate first-day and pre-sale ticket sales for the portly traitors are:
Detroit-Bad
Pittsburgh-Disaster
Philadelphia-Bad
Boston-Almost Sold Out
Wash. DC.-Selling Well
Chicago-Selling Well
Minneapolis-Bad
Fargo-Meltdown Disaster
Glendale, AZ-Bad
Omaha-Disaster
Denver-Disaster
Dallas-Disaster
Nashville-Meltdown Disaster
Tampa-Meltdown Disaster
Sunrise, FL-Meltdown Disaster
Atlanta-Selling Okay
Tacoma-Disaster
More venues go on-sale in the next week. California will probably go well for the cows, but the rest of the U.S. seems to be saying that the Chicks will be playing to half-empty arenas.
I click on that & it takes me to the page that tells me how many times I've posted.:)
I clicked "more" and I don't have success finding a category that shows how many times I've posted. I wonder if it's because I've never filled out my home page data? Perhaps you could be very specific and define what category, after "more" that you click on? Otherwise, maybe it means that I have to fill out my home page w/info about me first before it proceeds with this type of info?
Velly confused!

You don't get more Heartland that that part of the USA. You know? If the DO bring in ringers to put butts in seats, they are going to HATE the music they make.
It's a perfect storm, I'd say.
Now I have to find a new tagline.
doncha know that they've got the #1 album of ALL TIMES on BILLBOARDS... it's better than the White Album...better than the Abby Road....heck it's better than Thriller!...
I KNOW this 'cause the television and magazines say it's so. Even Larry King, VH-1, TIME Magazine and 60 Minutes...all the really "with it" music sources in the country (oops, don't want to say "country") in the nation, say that the Dixie Chix are the "bee's knees, daddy-o" , they are the "cat's pajamas"...
bwahahahahahaha...just wait till the local dems and other lib groups do "bulk" ticket purchases and giveaways....
Heck Target has ticket coupons with CD purchases, I think....
This is too funny.....
I don't think it was U of C Berkley. I believe it is a Berkley College in New York state that she attended.
BTW, I just wanted you to know... We're ashamed they're from Texas.
Although I was never a big fan I did like their music quite a bit, and still do (in theory). I did and do think Natalie Maines is a fine singer. (And I greatly respect her father, Lloyd Maines: a (steel) guitarist, performer, record producer, etc who's done wonderful things for Texas music, helped along many fine young artists, and helped both them and old pros make great recordings.)
Just the other day, though, I pulled out an old video tape of the Dixie Chicks on Austin City Limits. It was a fine show, but I just couldn't enjoy it.
I just can't watch, or listen to, The Fat One now without thinking about what an arrogant, ill mannered, airhead she is. The Chicks have just put up too many obstacles to enjoying their music, and most of them are utterly gratuitous obstacles. I don't care if Natalie doesn't like Bush. I don't even care (well, a little, but not all that much) if she expresses that view on a London stage. It wasn't that offense itself, but the rude and graceless follow on. If she'd said something like, "well, you know, I stand by my views, and my expression of them, but I understand that others see things differently, and appreciate that many think I crossed over a line" it woulda been fine by me. I coulda gone on enjoying their music. But instead they gotta keep getting in my face. They've become willing controversy whores, and the whole thing is just so blatantly stupid that everything about them offends me now.
Damn shame. I hear their latest album is pretty good musically.
Can't remember what it was originally called, but I think the founder renamed it in the 1960s after his son, Lee,
while having some fun playing on UC Berkeley.
It boasts some pretty decent alumni. Even one of the South Park guys attended for a while before going back to CO.
Al Kooper teaches there, last I heard.
And Ghengis, I believe Chaka went there too.
Conclusion: Ain't nobody who likes the Dexy Midnight Chix (or whatever their stupid name is).
Hmmm.......okay, try this: Go to the FR home page, look in the upper right hand corner where it says "My Account"; click on that and it should take you to the page with the info. you are looking for.
I knew it was one of the northeastern states. Thanks for the correction.
Hersheys is sponsoring Tim McGraw and Faith Hills tour I think.
Hope to see their CDs in the bargain basement bin at Wal-Mart in the next couple of years. :^)
It's Bush's Fault I tell you!!!!
All I've been hearing this week is album debuted in #1...
Plummeting sales tickets is the least they deserve.
10 tickets sold versus 5 tickets sold
Thanks for the report - and you're right - we won't hear this from the MSM...
Maybe they can play at the local Peanut Festival. They need more people for the dunking machine.
