A 12-year old survivor of the alleged massacre of innocent civilians by U.S. Marines patrolling Haditha has admitted she had prior knowledge of the plot to detonate an IED as their convoy was passing by her house on the morning of Nov. 19, 2005.
In a CNN interview broadcast Wednesday, Safa Younis - who says eight members of her family were killed by U.S. troops - recalled that she was getting ready for school as the Marine Humvee approached.
"I was planning to go to school. I was about to go out of bed. I knew the bomb would explode so I covered my ears," the youngster said, according to a CNN translator.
"The bomb [then] exploded," she explained. "The bomb struck an armored vehicle. I don't know if it was a Humvee or an armored vehicle. When the bomb exploded, they came straight to my house."
Younis complained that after the bombing killed Lance Cpl. Miguel Terrazas, his fellow Marines broke down the front door of her house.
"The American forces entered the house and started shooting with their guns. They killed my mother and my sister Nour. They killed her when she shot her in the head. She was only 15 years old. My other sister was shot with seven bullets in the head and she was only 10 years old."
The Haditha co-conspirator continued:
"And my brother Muhammad was hiding under the bed when the U.S. military hit him with the butt of the gun and the started shooting him under the bed. The U.S. military then shot me and I was showered in blood. We couldn't leave the house because the U.S. military surrounded the area with a large number of soldiers."
Younis said she survived by pretending to be dead.
But the "innocent" Haditha 12-year-old failed to give any further details about which other family members knew about the bomb plot. Or whether one of her relatives had detonated the blast.
There was also an article on here yesterday (I believe) that had 3 or 4 different accounts of the events?

If she knew the IED was going to explode, and the Marines came straight to her house- I wonder if the Marines have a way to electronically trace a detonator? Sounds to me like they went right to the source.
I really wish the media and politicians like Murtha would shut their trap and let the investigation take its course. If the Marines did not act right in this situation, then it will be news, if they are acquitted, then it is not news. I will believe our Marines over any Iraqi, any day of the week- especially one who knew about the IED ahead of time.
Sorry, double post!
I'm trying to piece together the actual facts about the event.
1. Everyone agrees this started with an IED explosion crippling a US vehicle.
2. There is no doubt that the IED attack killed one of our troops and wounded at least one other.
3. There are reports of a firefight.
4. There are reports of dead civilians.
First, I don't think our troops would have claimed that an IED explosion in the street would have killed civilians in their homes. It is illogical on its face.
Second, the critical issue appears to be the firefight report. When attacked, one must fire back. There should be no such thing as a "free attack."
When firefights happen and buildings are cleared, there will be deaths.
It was a line of sight IED. That was probably the obvious place.
"Something led the Marines directly to that house"
yeaaaa...in the Corps, we call it small arms fire!
ya know if any of these clowns in journalism had ever served a day in uniform much less combat; they wouldn't dream of writing such trash!

Haditha didn't state if any other family members were aware of the bomb?Well,if 12 year old Haditha knew about an impending explosion out front of her home, rest assured the rest of the family was aware of it too.
7 times? You would not be able to tell how many times after viewing the cranial vault with this absurd number.
.
Somehow I don't think I will hold my breath waiting for that.
Correction,her name is Younis.
Strange wording. Sounds coached to me, a 12 year old would have just called them soldiers, IMHO..
That sure seems to be the case. How are these things detonated? By some kind of radio transmitter...or even a cell phone? Does the one pressing the button need to be near the device that's to explode?
Even if that's not the case, one could expect that a member of that household gave permission for the device to be planted near their house, given that a little kid knew about it.
It's beginning to sound like the Marines had good reason to enter that house.
Was she the one with he shrapnel wound?
Now if they could JUST get their stories straight...
We will make Marines pay to shut the MSM up. Too bad this never works.
When you are being hit with line of sight IED's and being shot at from houses, you shoot back at the houses.
It's called survival.

That's a lie!
Everyone knows Morgan Fairchild can't knit.
Agreed brother, thus my illustration. If there's one thing you can on with an Arab it's lying and if it's another it's Arab Sunni lying but the king whopper is the Arab Sunni Baathist liar.
And I'm still hoping there's enough of it rampant to bring the truth to the light of day where this isn't as bad as where it seems heading based on all these "unnamed" military sources.
This week though it's going to start out bad. This is I can just feel.
