Boortz: I NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING THIS ONE (Rant on immigration reform)
Neal's Nuze ^ | 2 June 2006 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 06/02/2006 5:26:21 AM PDT by Small-L

President Bush spoke yesterday in Los Angeles on the subject of immigration reform. For the life of me I cannot figure out what is motivating his stance on this subject.

Bush, speaking to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, insists that any immigration bill passed by the Congress be "comprehensive." Just exactly does he mean by "comprehensive." Glad you asked. He means that a bill that simply provides for tighter border security and harsher punishment for employers who hire people who are in this country illegally will not satisfy his demands. We're being invaded. Some of the invaders crossing our borders refer to themselves as "reconquistadors." If you don't hablo Espanol, let me help you. They are calling themselves "re-conquerors." Many of them ... who knows what percentage ... are not just here to find some better-paying work so they can send dinero back home ... they are here to conquer and establish political control of huge parts of the American Southwest. If their purposes were entirely benign, why would they print articles in major Mexican magazines bearing headlines like "Los Angeles is ours!"

Can anyone reading this or listening to me on the radio think of one job -- one duty owed this country by the man we made president that is more solemn, more serious, more important than to use whatever resources he may have at his disposal to turn back an invasion of our homeland? Does the president's duty to protect and defend our borders only come into play if the invasion force is carrying guns?

This particular invasion force doesn't need guns. They're going to have a more potent weapon, the ballot. What does this "fast-track" to citizenship that Bush is so insistent upon really mean? That means a fast track to putting ballots in the hands of those we now call illegal aliens. This is the ultimate goal of President Bush, Ted Kennedy, John McCain and others. In fact, movements are already underway in many states and municipalities to grant full voting rights to non-citizens, and in some cases illegal aliens!

Think of the strength behind a ballot! Americans have been using ballots for hundreds of years to change leadership, to punish political wrongdoing, and to reward political courage. Americans now gleefully use this weapon to gain access to the property of others, and this they do without a moment's thought given to their legal form of plunder. A ballot can be used to change our very way of life in this country. A ballot can be used to gain access to the pockets of every single working American. A ballot can be used to open the floodgates even further to an broader invasion force. A ballot can be used to destroy our rights to property and to diminish our standing as free and independent individuals. What happens when this weapon is placed in the hands of tens of millions of people who had no respect whatsoever for the laws of this country, millions of people who broke the law coming here and broke the law by staying! What happens when this weapon is placed in the hands of people who show no desire whatsoever to assimilate into American culture; people who show disdain for our language and our customs; people who wave flags of their homeland instead of the banner of the United States as they demonstrate for their undeserved amnesty.

President Bush says that the " vast majority of illegal immigrants are decent people." Sorry, Mr. President. They're criminals. Criminals are not generally regarded as decent people, except perhaps by politicians. The decent people you speak of are the ones still in Mexico, still in Guatemala, still in Honduras and Colombia. The decent people are the ones who visit the American embassy or consulate to begin the arduous task of applying for permission .... legal permission to enter the United States. The decent people, Mr. President, wait patiently day after day for that magical notice to arrive from U.S. officials telling them that the American people await their arrival as legal, law abiding new neighbors.

Never in my 37 years of talk radio have I seen a time when the politicians inside the beltway have been so completely and thoroughly out of touch with the American people. Eight out of ten Americans want the border between the U.S. and Mexico sealed. These Americans have somehow developed the attitude that the people they send to Washington to make decisions related to our national security have some sort of a duty to recognize an invasion when it is happening, and to take steps to stop it. They don't want Bush's "comprehensive" approach. They want a direct, focused approach. Criminals are pouring across our borders, and they want it stopped. Now. These Americans do not want amnesty for those who have wantonly and brazenly ignored our laws.

The House Republican leadership is talking a tough game right now. No amnesty. No guest worker program. But ... right now that's all it is. Talk. If Speaker Hastert and Majority Leader Boehner want to insure that Nancy Pelosi will occupy the Speaker's office come next January all they have to do is cave in to Bush and the Senate with a comprehensive plan embracing anything that looks, smells or tastes like amnesty. I think I have some sort of a sense of what people are fired up about, and believe me, this issue has people burning mad.

HERE'S THE ISSUE FOLKS!

1) We have a 4.7% unemployment rate meaning that only hardcore unemployables and those who don't want to work (stay at home moms, etc) aren't working.

2) Even with a net EXPORT of manufacturing jobs, we STILL have to bring in 200,000 - 500,000 H1B Visas a year to handle our advanced engineering / technology / medical / Ph.D. level needs.

3) ABORTION HAS SLAUGHTERED OVER 40 MILLION AMERICANS THAT WOULD HAVE SERVED AS A TOTAL REPLACEMENT WORKFORCE!

4) Social Security is a MESS and SOMEONE has got to financially support it.

5) Hate it or not (and I am OPPOSED to the Illegal Immigration), deported some 11 - 20 Million people from the U.S. Economy with a 4.7% unemployment rate WILL CREATE A MASSIVE U.S. ECONOMIC DEPRESSION! In the short term wages will rise, in the mid-term business will export or collapse, inflation will become explosive, and the economy will collapse.

THAT FOLKS IS THE REALITY BROUGHT TO US BY DEMOCRATIC TERRORISTS AND THEIR BABY BUTCHERING, FREE FLOOD OF ILLEGAL WORKERS WHO VOTE DEMOCRAT POLICIES!

This is a NO WIN for America. And whether anyone like it or not (and once again, I am OPPOSED to ILLEGAL immigration), something has to be done to SOMEHOW accomodate them.

My suggestions are:

1) NO public social welfare benefits.
2) Grant them some sort of provisional "good behavior" work status but with TWICE the normal citizenship waiting period.
3) Ensure that they are paying their taxes / Social Security withholding. And END any special tax credits! NO Earned Income Tax (thanks Dems), NO Child Tax Credit, NO TAX CREDITS AT ALL!

cheap labor, labor that isn't unionized, labor that works hard and doesn't bitch and whine about how they are being victimized

Posting this description of illegals (work hard, cheap, don't whine) could get you called a rino, traitor, OBL supporter or worse.

They're giving all the bricks sent to congressional offices to Habitat for Humanity. Isn't that nice?
Too bad the bricks had no effect on their opinion.
Perhaps we should have sent them toilet brushes like they did on the John and Ken show on KFI in Los Angeles.

President is responsible for taking away everything the Republican party has gained during the past 20 or so years. I believe BIG-MONEY is in his pockets, and he has no intention of protecting America, our borders, or citizens he was elected to protect. President Bush has already sealed his place in history as the WORSE President in the history of our beautiful America -- and yeas that includes worse than Jimmy Carter.

Tony Snow if you are lurking. Many tried to tell you on your radio show. Secure the borders, enforce the laws that are on the books and no talk of amnesty. Although you repeatedly defended your position, you had to have gotten a heads up of what was to come. I believe the collective voice of the American people was heard and ignored. Question is, what happens now? I have admired this President as you have Tony but this is the defining moment. I hope it is not too late to reverse course.

what is motivating his (Bush's) stance on this subject.

The US financial system has been living on a series of one time free lunches. This is the last one to try.

Basically, the people want a lot of govt. services (anyone want to try to cut medicaid or medicare ? Ans is NO.) and not pay for them (anyone want to raise taxes ?)

Free lunch number 1 was social security. Generation 1 gets free stuff paid for by gen 2. Gen 2 gets repaid by gen 3, etc. You get 1 free lunch for gen 1.

Free lunch no. 2 was WWII. The world destroyed itself while the US was barely touched economically.

Free lunch no. 3, put the women to work.

Free lunch no. 4, globalization holds down inflation while the govt. can print money (which would normally cause inflation) to spend on all kinds of stuff.

Free lunch no.5, technological innovation. This has been wonderful but we are running out of innovations. The few that are left are high temp superconductors, nuclear energy, fusion, better robots (which are a lot like guest workers)

Free lunch no.6, import adult guest workers (you don't have to pay to school them or raise/rear them as kids, and you send them home before they retire)

I disagree with your post.

Unemployment is low, and the economy is booming.

Bush believes more workers adds to the economy.

I think he is right. More work means more stuff is done.

The drags on the economy are old people and kids and the illegals are usually neither.

President Bush says that the " vast majority of illegal immigrants are decent people."

And so what if they are? It's irrelelvant! I'm sure most of them are hard working too. Why should that give them the right to pay taxes on only three out of five years? I work hard too - can I pay taxes three out of five years? How about five out of ten years? And I hear there are lots of hard working people in India, in South Africa, in Mongolia. Why can't they all come too as they are 'hard workers'?

The only explanation for the President's behavior that I can think of is that he is personally profiting from illegal immigration... possibly from direct bribes from Vincente Fox and Co.? I can't think of any other reason why a Republican President would go to the wall for a policy that will establish a socialist/Democrat majority.

>>Can hardly wait for the democrats to take over congress too. Then you all can gloat to your heart's content. The troops will be devestated, but then, what does that matter if you prove how powerful the 'conservatives' are now.<<

If amnesty passes, you can kiss the G.O.P., and our nation goodbye

FOREVER.

Obviously from reading through a few of your posts MONEY is the basis for your statements. Exactly what I said in my other posts to this thread -- MONEY is the motivator for President Bush, but probably not in the same way as you described. Keep supporting Bush, and get the Dims that your tags line warns about. GW's time has come and gone, and it is now time to put him in the political corner and have the congress leadership govern our America until we can replace GW with a real conservative.

Gawd, it's all about the ECONOMY? Forget the impact of illegals on TAXPAYERS and WORKERS and HOSPITALS and COMMUNITIES? Old people and kids are DRAGS ON THE ECONOMY?

Stunning the level of economic depravity your side has sunk to here.

Or, perhaps, companies could hire back the older IT workers laid off in recent years. But that would, you know, cost more money than importing workers.

Old people and kids are DRAGS ON THE ECONOMY?

Yes. Look at how much productive work kids and old people do and how much they consume.
