The BBC has uncovered new video evidence that US forces may have been responsible for the deliberate killing of 11 innocent Iraqi civilians.
The video appears to challenge the US military's account of events that took place in the town of Ishaqi in March.
The US said at the time four people died during a military operation, but Iraqi police claimed that US troops had deliberately shot the 11 people.
A spokesman for US forces in Iraq told the BBC an inquiry was under way.
The new evidence comes in the wake of the alleged massacre in Haditha, where US marines are suspected of massacring up to 24 Iraqi civilians in November 2005.
'Massacre'
The video pictures obtained by the BBC appear to contradict the US account of the events in Ishaqi, about 100km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, on 15 March 2006.

The US authorities said they were involved in a firefight after a tip-off that an al-Qaeda supporter was visiting the house.
According to the Americans, the building collapsed under heavy fire killing four people - a suspect, two women and a child.
But a report filed by Iraqi police accused US troops of rounding up and deliberately shooting 11 people in the house, including five children and four women, before blowing up the building.
The video tape obtained by the BBC shows a number of dead adults and children at the site with what our world affairs editor John Simpson says were clearly gunshot wounds.
The pictures came from a hardline Sunni group opposed to coalition forces.
It has been cross-checked with other images taken at the time of events and is believed to be genuine, the BBC's Ian Pannell in Baghdad says.
"Well, that's certainly inconvenient. It's amazing what happens to these cut and run "cold blooded murder" cases when the other side gets to tell its story."
Of course our marxist MSM which hates real American Warriors will never print nor talk about the other side of this story.
This is a different incident, apparently.
There seems to be a level of misunderstanding on this, it maybe mine.
I understood that this report was an alleged incident at Ishaqi, not the previous alledged incident at Haditha.
I thought they were different incidents, at different times.
You got that right.
I am a Christian, and I KNOW what the enemy is--it is EVIL. God hates evil.
A true Christian would not purposely murder people in the name of God, and that is what these Islamofascists do every day, so the argument is moot. I cannot imagine these "animals" are Christians because real Christians do not kill non-Christians; we pray for them and witness to them. Missionaries even give up everything and go serve them, showing them mercy and love as Christ would have us do. Which can possibly get them (us) killed, but we will never force conversion by violence.
I know that in the past people have killed in the name of God and called themselves Christian, and they will have to stand before God and defend that. I am far from perfect and struggle with the flesh every day, but I do not purposely violate God's law in His name. I am imperfect, but forgiven.
And, yes, I pray for the enemy. I pray that God will change their hearts. That is what I can do in this battle.
"purposely murder"? Uh, murder is generally on purpose. **D'oh!**
That won't stop the BBC morons from proudlyreaching in the garbage, pulling it out, parading around with it and waiving it as fresh new attrocity.
They're recycling mud to toss to see if it sticks.
See #148,9
Story was completly like this as Shi'a forces with alQaeda/Iran connections needed to create fictition about a massacre.
F_ this! We need to stop the liberal paralysis of our troops over the years. We pretend that something exists which is "War Crime!" Sorry, all war is a crime, so lets be friends.
If we do not want to surrender, we have to tell liberal Socialist idiots in Europe that sorry, we do not judge our defense in terms of war crimes. The defense of the United States comes first, and if that is a crime then bring it on.
There is no such thing as war crime. Liberal nonsense. These are enemy combatants, and the villages SPONSOR the terrorists. Did we stop WWII because not all the Germans were Nazi's and not all the Nazi's were combat troops? No we destroyed their industrial power because all economic forces of ALL CITIZENS in the country contribute to the war.
Or sorry we put Kofi Annan as our Commander in Chief and we can appologize for getting our buildings in the way of the nice aircraft. Maybe we pay money to families of the Iraq terrorist pilots that ran into Pentagon/WTC?
"A true Christian would not purposely murder people in the name of God, and that is what these Islamofascists do every day, so the argument is moot. I cannot imagine these "animals" are Christians.."
Why we have to discuss the sworn enemies of Christianity is intolerable. There is a need to protect Christianity when it is attacked, same as to protect America when it is attacked. The Islamofascists are just shock troops of a "religion" which hates Christianity. If they will not accept being human why do we offer them this?
We cannot extend courtesies to the enemy for sure as they are the anti-Christian forces as sure as Bible states about Mohamed as Antichrist. Why could we not see that they do not come as the same as us?
what???
I wish there was a button that I could press to read your post in ENGLISH
A muslim could say the same about a muslim who kills innocent people (that he/she is not muslim)
Do the crusades mean anything to you??? I guess they weren't REAL christians
I think jstntime point was for you to try and imagine...of course you won't/can't
Not only are you a troll, you are a thread resurrecting troll.
GO AWAY TROLL.
My apologies. Am I using words that are too big?
