Reporter Assaulted After Interview And Loses Tape

CBS) LOS ANGELES A local radio reporter was assaulted Thursday while leaving a Los Angeles charter school that his station has said imparts separatist ethics, a station official said.

The reporter, Sandy Wells, was not hurt, according to station spokesman Steve Sheldon.

Wells was leaving the campus of Academia Semillas Del Pueblo, 4736 Huntington Drive, after interviewing the principal when a car came around the corner, jumped the curb and the driver tried to run him down, Sheldon said.

Wells managed to dodge the car, but the driver, a man who appeared to be in his mid-20s, got out and tackled him, taking away his tape recorder, he said.

The incident was reported to police, Sheldon said, adding that it is believed to be linked to the station's reporting on the school.

The Los Angeles Unified School District said it would issue a statement on the assault later in the day.

Yes another classic example of how the US is being Mexicanized. The problem with violent attacks on campers in the Big bend National Park began back in the 80's, around 1983 I think. Even before that there were occasional incidents in which campers and hikers were robbed and woman sexually assaulted by muchachos who were probably pretty much locals from either side of the border. However, in the 80's drug traffickers started using the Big Bend country as a corridor for moving product. Freepers with far better knowledge of West Texas than I can explain in detail why this region became favored as a drug smuggling corridor. I suspect it is the combination of thin settlement combined with small Mexican towns on the north shore to provide pickup crews of thugs and the numerous long deep canyons that run from the river inland so that large stashes of drugs can be easily hidden until transportation is arranged. That is the other part of the equation is the availability of good highways (US 385 runs directly into the park and Texas 118 is a good well graded hard surface road connecting to the end of US 385. From there it is an easy ride either to I-10 or US 90 the contraband highway.)

When these reports first started appearing I mentioned to a number of individuals that this was a very bad omen as Mex bandits always started operating in the Big Bend when the State and Federal government in Mexico became really rotten and dysfunctional. I stated it was only a precursor of much worse to come both with throngs of alien criminal trespassers entering the country almost at will and the decay of basic public safety in the border zones. I was considered pretty eccentric at best and evilly racist at worse for saying such things. Today, as you point out, the US government basically tells Americans that they are taking their own risks to use a US National Park. Effectively the US government has abdicated to bands of drug smugglers and other criminal gangs and the Big Bend country has been 'reconquestaed' already with the muchachos from Ruidosa and Castolon and Terlingua knowing who really rules the roost in the Big Bend.

Interestingly back in the 1920's, during Prohibition,this area was favored as a smuggling route for rum runners. Texas authorities know where such unchecked contraband smuggling could lead and sent a part of Rangers led by the redoubtable Frank Hamer to make the rum runners life less easy. Hamer captured a large mule train loaded with liquor. I presume he inflicted some rough and ready curbstone justice on the armed goons with the convoy and then had the mules shot and the liquor bottles unloaded and smashed. For many years thereafter the whitening bones of the mules and the broken shards of the whiskey bottles were a visible monument to discourage contraband smuggling. This is covered in a rather sanitized way in the chapter on Hamer in Walter P Webb's classic history of the Rangers. Where is Frank Hamer now that we really need him?

I drove east to west cross country alone in 1984 taking a way southern route.

One of the places I'd planned to stop was Big Bend National Park. By the time I got there, I'd thought better of it because the area was so desolate. I distinctly remember having the feeling that if I went into the park no one would ever hear from me again.

In my youthful naivete, I had NO IDEA of any of what you report was going on and originally thought I'd drive around a national park to see what I could see just to break up the monotony of the long distance drive.

I think that that people need to read the statement in its entirety, instead of edited by the local media, because it a pure attempt at damage control. Mr. Aguilar knows that he is in deep trouble with the LAUSD and the taxpayers of Los Angeles and the LAUSD for using a school for promoting an obvious anti-American and racist ideology with taxpayer dollars. The frightening thing is that LA RAZA and MEChA support schools like this all around the nation, with assistance of the unsuspecting taxpayers.

"Charter School Start-Up Grants: NCLR has provided millions of dollars to the 50 new charter schools in its network. These funds are targeted to assist community groups during the exploratory phase of the first two years of operation.

"Training and Professional Development: NCLR continues to provide numerous opportunities for the charter school network to participate in professional development and training activities. Regional as well as national events are held every year to offer information, resources, and expert instruction on issues that face the Latino student population."

You mean the part where it says: To minimize confrontations between boaters, vehicle campers, ranchers, Mexican military, fisherman, smugglers, and day use visitors, river trips are advised against camping in areas that are accessible by vehicle on either side of the river. Camping at these sites on the Texas side is prohibited, and is strongly discouraged on the Mexican side of the river.?

LAUSD Racist Charter School

It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and teacher unions oppose charter schools.

As I’ve written here and here, LAUSD controls a $13.4 billion budget – 727,000 students ($18,431 per child). Only a tiny fraction of these funds gets into our children’s classrooms, while a large chunk goes through the teacher unions that fund Democrat candidates who oppose charter schools – whose students achieve significantly higher scores than their LAUSD peers. LAUSD opposes charters because they fear losing control of 1) their budget and 2) the Democrats who empower them.

Is there a better way to discredit charter schools than by granting charters to incompetent educators?

The Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, an anti-American public school that cripples Mexican children with primitive anti-American dogma offers an elegant solution. LAUSD hopes that Academia Semillas will prove that charters are not an effective solution to LAUSD’s failures.

Think of it this way: If LAUSD opposed black educators but was pressured to hire them, what better evidence would they need for black incompetence than to hire illiterate felons? And when parents get angry about the results, LAUSD could blame “black educators.”

Don’t be fooled - this was deliberate!
