***The Quinnipiac University poll was carried out from From May 23-30 and surveyed 1,534 registered voters nationwide. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points.***

No further details?
Was this a CBS sponsored poll?
Anyway, my two cents says LBJ was the worst. We will pay forever for his "Great Society". And he probably would have had Welcome Wagons at the southern border.

We could elect a real rock as President, and Jimmy Carter would still be the worst.

What, no Gerald Ford? The musical achievements on his watch are by themselves enough to put him in the top five:

THE TOP FIVE
Week of September 18, 1976

1. Play That Funky Music
Wild Cherry

2. (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty
K.C. & The Sunshine Band

3. I'd Really Love to See You Tonight
England Dan & John Ford Coley

4. A Fifth of Beethoven
Walter Murphy & the Big Apple Band

5. You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine
Lou Rawls

Mr. Bush was ranked worst by 56 percent of Democrats and 35 percent of independent voters but only 7 percent of Republicans.

so, all you FR math majors, how much were the RATS oversampled...if Pres. Bush was rated worst by 37% ?

Too much American Idol... and a pi$$-poor knowledge of history can only explain this pathetic, display of ignorance.

Outside of possibly of Ike and Nixon, Ronaldus Magnus DOES NOT merit being included with any of the other scum listed here, present President included!

He is the best. Period.

Neither Truman nor Kennedy, any Kennedy, gets this boomers vote. And, if Bush were running again, neither would he. I am fed up with his inaction on the borders and big spending.

Did any of the geniuses that responded to this poll know that Eisenhower was President? There are very few greats, like Reagan. Most American presidents are just taking up space. Then there are the disasters (LBJ, Nixon, Carter). Clinton was criminally negligent and his incompetence led to the 9-11 attack. If he had been in the Oval Office in 1940, does anyone doubt that the Nazis would have crossed the Atlantic? Does anyone doubt that the terrorist attacks would have continued under Pres. Gore?

FDR lied us into the war. Thank Heaven!

If most Democrats think he's the worst - that puts him pretty high on my list.

Bush has plunged our Nation into $3 Trillion dollars in additional federal debt, in less than 6 years, not to mention the billions our state and local governments are forced to shell out in support of his open borders, pro-illegal immigration policies.

How about 'Worst president Ever'?

Was that a choice?

The poll is ridiculous. Jimmy Peanut Carter is by far the worst president. History will remember President Bush as one of the best presidents of this century if not all times. Sure there are things we don't agree with, but does everyone agree with everything 100% all the time? I don't think so

I think President Bush is one of our great presidents. We are blessed to have him serving at this time.

CBS News) President Bush has been named as the worst president since the end of the World War II in a new national poll

Bullsh*t. Carter and Johnson would beat Bush hands-down, and the Toon ranks right up there as well.

This poll smells.

Let's see, AMNESTY was granted. Congress did nothing. Oh, I know. Since Reagan was the best, let's repeat that scenario, as it was such a winner...

Shows how evil a country America has become. They think a do-nothing president like Bill Clinton who sat back and diddled the help while Al Qaeda planned 9-11 with impunity, and then was later impeached for committing multiple felonies is better than a president who cut taxes, grew the economy now growing at 5.3% with full employment at a low 4.7% unemployment rate and protected America from further attacks on its soil? I give up on this country and just await God's judgments upon it.

Ronald Reagan was the top choice as best president, with 28 percent. Finishing second was Clinton with 25 percent.

So it seems like the primary characteristic admired is glib speaking.

God help us if Ryan Seacrest ever runs for President. ;)

Pres Bush has been fairly strong and has been performing his office diligently. Those who want the occupant of the office to be the intellectual leader or father figure of the country need to go to church more.

Did all these people sleep during the Carter presidency?

Stagflation, a phrase unique to Carter, gas lines, failed solar energy policy (every flim-flam scam artist in the country got on that bandwagon), heavy taxation and restriction of car imports from Japan -- causing all USA models (and Japanese) to double in price during his one term, using an inept (college professor) translator in Poland -- allowing the President to embarass himself and his country to the Poles, failed military strike in Iran, US hostages in Iran that got released on (Reagan's) inaugral day, fully supported Iranian President Bakhtiar for all of two weeks before doing a Murtha-like "cut and run," demanding no uniforms in the Pentagon for military officers and personnel, the Panama Canal fiasco, and worst of all, home interest rates that hit the mid teens.

This man adversely affected EVERY American.

He's the VAINEST man to occupy the office.

He's not only the worst President in history, he's the worst ex-President in the history of the country.

Take this same poll in 1987, and it would say REAGAN is the Worst President, and Donald Regan was the Anti-Christ......

I'm old enough to realize that we go through this tripe every time a Repub gets elected......
