Demos can win religious voters, Dean insists
Albany Democrat Herald ^ | June 1, 2006

EUGENE (AP) — Howard Dean says Democrats must have faith in their ability to attract religious voters.

The former presidential candidate, who will speak at this weekend’s Oregon Democratic Convention in Eugene, says his party must do a better job of winning the support of evangelical Christians, who have voted Republican in recent elections.

To that end, Dean recently appeared on Pat Robertson’s “700 Club.’’ The appearance wasn’t without its bumps. Dean had to later apologize to gay-rights leaders for incorrectly stating during the program that the party’s platform said “marriage is between a man and a woman.’’

quote "Most people in this county, including evangelicals, think it’s immoral to let children go to bed hungry at night"

I also think it's immoral for the government or anyone else to steal money from me to feed them.

quote "They think it’s immoral not to have everyone in some kind of health insurance"

I think it's immoral to force people to buy something they don't wont, and even more immoral to force me to pay for some strangers medical bills.

So let them try anyway. It'll be a great pleasure to watch them waste a lot of money on this foolhardy scheme. Money that would otherwise be spent indirectly supporting Al-Qaeda and the wanton, wholesale murder of freedom-loving people everywhere.

For dems, it will always, ALWAYS be about the Power of the State; nothing more.

Aha, I knew something was amiss. Yesterday (31st) the 'Evil Howard' (sarc) basically said Evangelicals, or any 'religious' person for that matter, are bigots for not embracing homo marriage.

Poster note:
I'm not saying you did anything wrong, this is typical Howie speaking out of his 'separate orifices' on different days. The guy is a maroon.

I agree that the Democrats won't be able to attract religious Christians. In Nov. 1992, I read that an exit poll, from that month's election, found that about 2/3 of religious Christians voted for Bush. The other third was equally split between Perot and Clinton. Since that election, I haven't seen any proof that a larger percentage of religious Christians vote for Democrats.

With the lying media on your side anything is possible.
There are 4 or 5 hard left Senators representing overwhelmingly conservative states in the West.

Mayor Nagin proves you can get re-elected no matter how obvious and destructive your incompetence is.

Howard Dean says Democrats must have faith in their ability to attract religious voters.>>

"It doesn't matter that we think exterminating unborn babies," he said. "Or that we dip their faith in urine at every opportunity. Religious people are inherently stupid. All we need to do is say the word 'Jesus,' and the vote will roll in, baby." /sarc
