Tiger Woods: Bill Clinton Cheats at Golf, Too
NewsMax ^ | 1 June 2006

Posted on 05/31/2006 4:34:34 PM PDT by Aussie Dasher

In Arkansas for a children's golf clinic, Tiger Woods was asked about playing golf with former President Bill Clinton.

"Interesting math," Woods said, drawing a laugh before telling a story about a round the two played in February before the opening of the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Woods described a hole on the back nine.

"President Clinton rolls one in the bushes, then hits another one off the tee ... right in the middle of the fairway, hits a nice little wedge shot up there to about, I don't know, 6-7 feet.

"I hit a bad pitch, I blasted it by about 12 feet. ... Then all of the sudden, he does one of these," Woods said, gesturing like a player picking up his ball.

"It was 6-7 feet and he walked off the green. ... So I'm sitting in the cart. He's writing down the numbers, I happen to kind of ..." Woods said, leaning back as if reading a scorecard over someone's shoulder.

"Woods 4, Clinton 3."

On a more serious note, Woods said playing with Clinton was fascinating.

"We had a good time," Woods said. "He was a cool person to play with, very intelligent. Brilliant, the things that he knew to describe world politics ... actually really remarkable."

"What a rare glimpse into the soul such a golf game can be"

Absolutely. You find a lot out about a person after playing 18 with them (including whether they lie and cheat).

That is how Bubba conducts his life. It is all about Him. They say OJ Simpson does the same thing.

If how you keep score in golf is the best way to show your character, then what does it say about me that I've never kept score (to the annoyance of my friends whom I'm playing with, who are usually very competitive). I play about 4 or 5 times a year and never take mulligans, move the ball etc.. I just have fun playing the ball from where it lands without being distracted by having to remember how many strokes it took to make it into the hole.

Nothing at all 'wrong' with that concept! I play 3 times a week, sometimes with other folks, sometimes by myself. If my group wants to play for a little money (dime a hole kinda action) I keep score - an honest score - and I'll keep honest any other player who attempts to 'haul timber' as the old cribbage cheat was called. If there's no money riding on it or I'm playing alone, who cares about the score? I sure don't.

Too bad Bill Clinton didn't get the sh!t beat out of him a few times in his adult life. It would have brought him down to reality

I completely and unequivocally reject this sentence:

"He was a cool person to play with, very intelligent. Brilliant, the things that he knew to describe world politics ... actually really remarkable."

In the 13 1/2 days back in 1991 that I actually listened to Clinton, before I figured out what he was about, and tuned him out permanently, he NEVER struck me as brilliant or intelligent.

Woods may be a uniquely gifted but he is as naive as any other non-thinking American when it comes to being taken in by the Slimemeister's superficial, faux, oily charm.

Clinton is nothing but another ex-President now. He's no more fearsome than Jimmy Carter.

Why is everyone reading into this. He was asked a question and he answered it and then, as a Gentleman would he tried to protect the honor of the person he just basically ratted on. We all know what Tiger really thinks of Clinton, so he just showed that he's a classy guy by what he said.

"Back during the White House Travel Office scandal, there was a story about Clinton cheating at golf. In fact, one of his White House staffers was using a helicopter and other White House resources to go golfing. If I recall correctly, he resigned."

There's a memorable photo of a Marine saluting a golf bag, as David Watkins, director of White House administration and management along with some White House cronies in casual clothes board a Presidential Helicopter to be airlifted to a country club in Fredrick Maryland. After the country went ballistic, The Marines billed Watkins $13,129.66 for use of the chopper. Golfers who regularly took helicopters when they headed for the course said the White House players were wildly overcharged.

Watkins balked at paying for the trip, leading other White House officials to scramble to pick up at least part of the tab themselves. Watkins wrote an unrepentant letter of resignation to President Clinton, admitting no wrongdoing, and said he had been "persuaded" he could no longer perform his job as director of White House administration and management.

It's interesting that Woods seemed to be as non-plussed (amazed) at his "knowledge" of foreign power and influence, while noting (and criticizing!) his blatant cheating at golf.

(Clinton's golf cheating has been long known... And just as long ignored by ALL the MSM media, of course.)

Now note, what would YOU do if you were a lying. cheating sociopath, or international killer, or international socialist/communist country, and KNEW you were dealing with a cheater and lair as US president.

Would YOU feel any obligation to FOLLOW the words in the treaty? Would YOU feel any obligation to release prisoners, or restrict arms sales, or restraint oil-for-dictator's-profits programs?

Or would YOU simply BRIBE Clinton/Hillary to get anything you want?

Brilliant, the things that he knew to describe world politics ..

What an odd sentence. Sounds like Tiger was desperately trying to say something positive about Bubba but couldn't think of anything specific.

Odd, that he would feel the need to best tiger woods in golf.

Sociopathic, in fact.

Exactly the reason he'd never want sinator hillary! to become president. She'd best him historically.

I was thinking along the same lines, except maybe Tiger chose his words quite carefully and was perfectly accurate.

He did not say that BJ knew world politics.

He said that the things he knew to describe world politics were brilliant.

What he said, quite literally and unhesitantly, is that the Toon is good at story telling when it comes to geopolitical topics.

Nothing more, nothing less....unless you consider the fact that he had just protrayed his disbarred golf partner as a cheat, and trusted him only so long as he could see what he was writing on the card...well, I guess these could count as qualifiers.

I think Tiger said exactly what he meant to say, it was a top shelf slam....and brilliantly executed :)
