I want to make sure I understand. You believe that if an IED goes off, anybody within a one block area can be shot and killed, even if they had nothing to do with the IED. Right?

Stop your lying. We now know for certain that the people within these homes (at the very least one of them) knew exactly of this IED! - The young 10 year old girl clearly states on video that she was aware of the IED (didn't leave for school because her family was waiting for it) and she knew the exact moment it was going to go off (and covered her ears!).

No, this family is far from innocent (and clearly had much more then "nothing" to do with this IED).

We know the "civilians" of Haditha were asked to leave several times as this city was going to be fully engaged (thousands did leave) those that didn't too a large degree were in support of the insurgents. Especially those who happen to know where IED's are planted and watch as they kill Americans -

Why are you constantly wanting to give these people the benefit of the doubt and not our soldiers?? - Who are on the ground in that specific region and have plenty of ways to know who is supporting insurgents and who isn't.

This very same Marine unit just weeks earlier with an embedded CNN reporter (for over a month) claims how these men risked their lives saving Iraqi's....how they showed unbelievable restraint, etc, etc.

Yet you still want to think the worst of them...and even worse then that..think the best of these families who we now know clearly were directly or indirectly involved with the placed IED. In that at the very least they were completely aware of it.

I support your rebuttal to our dear FR friends. To many are not connecting the dots. You have again as in other like posts attempted to connect a few. Those families where in on the deal. So this $hit that keeps on coming out that they where totally innocent is a pile of horse droppings. As you made the point in another post, the EID kill in this case was a line of site method. It happens all the damn time. Sadly it is possible the familiy where in essence held hostage by goons to allow them access to plant, bury wires, and stay in one of the houses and wait for the opportune moment to arrive.
But again. I for one will wait until the military decides on what really happened and what if any punishments should be dealt out.
There are to many Freepers giving to much credence to these differing reports.

Something else to think about...wasn't there a lag of about 3 months or so between the time of the IED going off, the ensuing firefight, the inspection by the militry that justified our guy's actions, and Time magazine coming up with a completely different version of the events, complete with previously undisclosed bullet holes?

Suppose these bullet holes in the Iraqi *victims* were effected sometime after the firefight, like, say around the time a reporter working for a faux news company known to collaborate with the terrorists came knocking with a plan to make these people some blood money?

Why else would they be undisclosed by the military investigation, then show up months later?
