" A survivor of the Marine attack has stated that she knew the IED was there and when to cover her ears when it went off." This is the 13y/o girl that woke up when the bomb went off right? If you believe the part of the story you posted, why don't you believe the rest of "her" story? BTW, the Marines determined the houses contained no arms, not was there a connection to the bomb found.
"It has always been drilled into every Marine that if you are attacked by some one that means to kill you, you have the right to defend yourself with deadly force,"
Got a scenario where these family members posed a threat?
"it doesn't matter if a single gunshot was ever fired back at the Marines after the IED went off, they had the right and duty to attack those that attacked them using deadly force."
I see apparently shooting up the neighborhood is justified.

This is the 13y/o girl that woke up when the bomb went off right? Wrong - It was another of the girls (there are 3 children talking now that were involved) - The girl that clearly states they were aware of the IED, they didn't leave for school that morning because they were waiting for it to blow up...and they knew exactly when it was going to go off (and in anticipation covered her ears)...she was 10 years old.
She was speaking freely to a anti-war human rights group. She is not the 13 year old girl who is now currently on her third version of her story....
This was a LOS IED...which means the person who detonated it had to be close by and in a safe zone (likely a house with a view). Which all three of these homes had.
We now know they were at the very least aware of this planted IED (and did nothing to save the truly innocent American soldiers lives)...and it is likely they supported those who planted this IED.

Which story of hers? she's told three different versions of them.
and who has said the Marines determined that the attacks didn't come from these two houses, muthra, The AP Reuters?
Yeah I got a scenario, everyone is outside the house waving at the Marines as the IED goes off, then runs inside praising Allah.
We bomb cities don't we?
Why is shooting at a possible attacker in a neighborhood any different, because we can make eye contact, because we can see who we are shooting at?
We still cannot determine if anyone in that neighborhood did anything just by looking at them if they aren't armed or in uniform.
By thy logic that says we must first determine who attacked our troops before striking back, this war is lost because we will never be able to prove who fired off most IEDs.

(A single rogue Marine, yeah that can happen, but a whole Unit, only a liberal would believe that BS)

In situations involving combat it matters not what the truth is. The actions of your forces are always correct and lawful the enemy is always wrong. This is about winning not about being right or wrong. The Romans said 'In the face of arms law is silent. A NCO I knew said it more bluntly 'Right Smitgt, it's whether you win or lose that counts.'
