A preliminary military inquiry found evidence that U.S. Marines killed two dozen Iraqi civilians in an unprovoked attack in November, contradicting the troops account, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.
President George W. Bush said he was troubled by news stories on the November 19 killings of men, women and children in the town of Haditha, and a general at the Pentagon said the incident could complicate the job for the 130,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.
Allegations such as this, regardless of how they are borne out by the facts, can have an effect on the ability of U.S. forces to continue to operate, Army Brig. Gen. Carter Ham, deputy director for regional operations for the militarys Joint Staff, told a Pentagon briefing.

Curious what your motivation is here. You sure seem awful desperate to simply scream down any facts that disagree with your desire to see the Marines hang. Why are you so gung how to accept the Hate America types propaganda on this? After the dozens and dozens of these stories that have blown up in the junk media's face, I would expect Freepers to be a LOT less willing to jump to conclusions.
What is your excuse going to be if your "Facts" turn out to be just as fraudulent as "Flush the Koran" "Thousands drowned in New Orleans" "Gangs running rampant in Superdom"? "Army bogged down and cut of in Iraq." and any other of dozens of other "News" stories that turned out to be lies?
All anyone is saying to you is wait and FIND OUT THE FACT instead of mindlessly regurgitating the rumor, innuendo and hearsay of the Anti War Left as "Fact". They are not fact, merely gossip and accusation

What disturbs me the most in all this is that many of the same people accusing our troops of cold blooded murder and broadcasting any leak they find or fabricate are some of the same people whining about lack of due process of law for terrorists in Gitmo and elsewhere.
It's really sad to see Democrats and the drive-by leftstream media have m ore regard for terrorists than they do our own troops.

Yes, its pretty discouraging. But Ill wait until someone other than an anonymous source tells what happened. I have a real hard time believing that Marines went on a killing spree ala My Lai..

A "patriot" would not trash the Commander In Chief or our troops at the time of war.
And spreading RUMORS about the President's wife is truly sickening.

No member of the media, no democratic or republican congressman, not even the Commander-in-Chief or the Secretary of Defense will sit on the Court Martial bench or jury if there is to be a trial.

"If there were an iota of a chance that this did not happen, none of the things I just mentioned would have happened."
I am not sure how General Pace answering questions at a press conference or General Hagee flying to Iraq, or the POTUS answering questions about the alleged incident make the alleged crimes factual. Shouldn't we wait until the official facts come in on this matter? If your response is in reference to what DevSix and I have mentioned on a few threads about how quite often "innocent Iraqi" fully support for a number of reasons al Qaeda, Sunni radical Islamist groups, Saddamist, and others in attempting to kill US and coalition troops triggered your response. I simply was stating known facts that are clearly documented by scores of our military folks over the past three years.
But in my saying what I did I did discount the fact that perhaps some of the Marines may be found to have gone beyond their ROE.
We simply do not know the facts at this point. Besides. In todays politically charged world, if Pace or the POTUS have said nothing, then the L/MSM would be screaming about how they either don't care a damn or they have something to hide. So they have no option but to play along with the L/MSM.
If I where the POTUS. And least you forget. What responses have you heard from these two individuals. Have they not said, we should wait for the investigation to provide the real facts, and not get carried away with the different versions of what happened being perpetrated by the L/MSM?

Who's leaking all this to the press? With pressure from the MSN and ultimately from the White House, how can these guys get a fair hearing? The White House should shut up as should the military except to say that they cannot comment on this matter as it has been referred to the Military Justice System and that we expect that Justice will take its course.
If the president takes sides in this matter or any government agency or congress, then those who try these men may be prejudiced inasmuch as their own military careers may be either adversely or positively affected by the verdict they render.

Which story of hers? she's told three different versions of them.
and who has said the Marines determined that the attacks didn't come from these two houses, muthra, The AP Reuters?
Yeah I got a scenario, everyone is outside the house waving at the Marines as the IED goes off, then runs inside praising Allah.
We bomb cities don't we?
Why is shooting at a possible attacker in a neighborhood any different, because we can make eye contact, because we can see who we are shooting at?
We still cannot determine if anyone in that neighborhood did anything just by looking at them if they aren't armed or in uniform.
By thy logic that says we must first determine who attacked our troops before striking back, this war is lost because we will never be able to prove who fired off most IEDs.

The accusations against and prosecution of Lt. Pantano on pre-meditated murder was also "serious" to all, but many here. Charges against him were dismissed after the autopsy evidence was brought forward.

Well, married people can have trouble. Look at Hil and Bill. I don't think Laura is throwing ashtrays at him but things have gone downhill. I'd bet money that she's not at all fond of Karl Rove who imo is responsible for the immigration push, all the capitulating to the left and the big spending.
Karl Rove should resign or be fired. The President would do better without him.
