We need someone a little more willing to kick some ass.

Peter King?

This article certainly puts it plain and simple--Hastert has to go!

In my view Hastert and Frist have both been both ineffective, but a huge, sustained political problem for President Bush.

I would suggest that Frist displays a political naivete that is just appalling; whereas Hastert is simply as dumb as a standing clay brick.

In any event, these two turkeys have been a collective political disaster for far too long.

Especially when you consider the probable once in a lifetime chance of pushing a conservative agenda; we gave them both houses of Congress and they, to put it bluntly, pissed it away. Frist, like the rest of the Senate Rinos, is nothing but a pampered milquetoast, more than willing to give power away to the dems. Hastert is the invisible man, until a fellow congressman is caught taking bribes, then he finds the backbone to take a stand on something all on his own.

It's crazy.

El Chubbo One needs to waddle away into the sunset.

My nominee for Speaker, a real conservative (and who would give Jorge a headache): J.D. Hayworth

ALAS, THE CONGRESSIONAL GOP FORGOT its principles along the way, on multiple fronts.

Ironically enough, this was the very first line of the very first item (Government Reform) in the Contract With America:

require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply to Congress;

"No man is above the law." Who came up with that dumb line? Looks like Hasturd paniced, gave away the other turds. Could it well be that these "Nigerian' scams, et al, have been originating in Congress? Using staff and Gov't computers? Is ths what got the congers men so assed up the other day? Hmmmm

Hastert can't go until he kills this monstrosity of an "immigration bill" that the Senate sent along to the House for "reconciliation".

He has pledged to forbid this to go to a vote unless a majority of Republicans in the House support it, and that's just not going to happen.

After he kills this bill, he can go. But not before. At this point, he's the only man standing between American civilization and absolute chaos.

He's already indicated he would seek another term:

Hastert Will Seek Another Term as House Speaker

After 2008 he would be term limited by GOP caucus rules.

Since there is no legal mention of special protection for Elected Officials in the Constitution, there is no reason for Dennis to be defending a Democrat. Jefferson is nothing but a crook, and to have the speaker of the house defending him is ridiculous

Hastert is an affiable boob.
The repubs really got a forceful leader when they elected him to lead the party.
I've yet to hear of him putting a RINO is their place.
I've yet to hear of him trying to push legislation the majority of republicans are interested in.
Let's see, control of both houses and the presidency and still this moron gets pushed around like a punk by any democrat walking the halls of congress.
Get rid of him.
Find an in your face type like Newt used to be.

Was Hastert ever effective? Perhaps from a 'Rat perspective, as a subdued contrast to Newt's effectiveness.

I just saw a recap of the ridiculous hearings on this yesterday, called by Sensenbrenner. Issa stated there is no reason they (congress) cannot just go ahead and impeach the AG and the Judge involved. WOW! What an embarrasment. These republicans are looking more and more stupid -- placing themselves above all laws. I'm really disturbed by what Hastert and crew are doing and saying.

You are all welcome to your opinion. In my own opinion he is doing a great job. I will be sure to vote for him again and am proud he is my representative.
