Well the carrier's planes, don't you know, were all spotted on the deck in preparation for a steal beach picnic, so they're planes couldn't respond in time.
Which is something we always do near a hostile country, never in a previously selected area away from any bad guys or anything. Stick to the holiday schedule is a phrase often heard from carrier skippers; "We have a holiday today folks, so we're taking a day off for a BBQ and some fun and remembrance for Memorial Day.
If you need a sarcasm tag, you aren't really reading.

Why would we let the Iranians know we know they are there. What threat could a uav pose against one of our carriers. Even if its true. It just gives us more a reason to go to war IMO.
