What protective equipment was provided (armor, helmets, etc)? Who are the maunfacturers and what are the model numbers? Was that equipment state of the art?
Was the CBS team provided with weapons, personal security or medical aid by CBS? If so why not? Were the CBS News team taught first aid? Why were two of the team members British nationals? What is the percentage of Americans that CBS News sends in harm's way? If under 50% why? Did CBS News arrange for adequate insurance for members of the team, especially the foreign nationals? Who paid for that insurance, CBS or the team members? Who paid for their armor, helmets, first aid kits, if provided? Who in CBS News is in charge of personal security for news teams? How often are security measures reviewed? What are those security measures? Does CBS News know if their staff includes any spies? How do they know? Who at CBS News screens local nationals and what operational security meausres are used by CBS News to protect information? Before Monday's attack, the Committee to Protect Journalists had put the number of journalists killed in Iraq at 69. Of those, nearly three-quarters were Iraqis, the New York-based group said. Why? How much is the average salary paid Iraqi employee by CBS News? Are they provided with healthcare? Insurance?
What are the duties of Iraqi nationals called "fixers"? PLEASE CONFINE THIS THREAD TO QUESTIONS FOR CBS NEWS OR EXPANDING ON QUESTIONS ALREADY SUGGESTED. Thanks.
Who is resposible for their "Rush to Report?"
How about..."Why did the convoy STOP to do a static report?" too bad for the soldier killed...the reporter.."oh, well"
Who will be allowed to speak Truth to Power at CBS?
Did CBS have UN approval before undertaking this risky scheme?
Didja ever notice that when reporters make convoys stop in the middle of the road...sh#t happens?"
What is Mother Shehans reaction?
How did the American die then ?
Considering that Fox News had a female reporter in the same area, on the same day, and nothing happened to her and her crew...
Did Fox KNOW not to go there...and didn't tell CBS???
Outsourcing?
*Does CBS finally realize that this is NOT a f***in' game, and that THEIR constant undermining of the US provided moral support and encouragement to those who planted the explosives?
CBS news is devoting almost 10 minutes to the story. The reporters are more important than the military deaths. The reporters are being described as heroes.
Dear CBS,
Did "terrorists" do this killing or were they "freedom fighters"?
I don't think the american died yet. She is in serious condition is what the last report I saw said.
Isn't this George Bush's fault?
Well said! *applause*
I'm sad that a brave American died here, its merely a footnote. In fact, its already been forgotten by some.
cbs needs to set a time line when reporters are brought back home. How many more reporters have to die for news for cbs?
If they die do they still get to vote Democrat?
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
Is CBS overstretched and overstressed?
Did Dan Rather and/or Mary Mapes have any contact (actual or via Kinkos) with any of these correspondents or their drivers in the past year? Were the IED's involved 'fake but accurate' or were they the real deploy?
