Democrats eye November landslide

Republicans are three steps from a November shellacking - each a grim possibility if habitually divided Democrats get their acts together.

Republicans are three steps from a November shellacking - each a grim possibility if habitually divided Democrats get their acts together.

First step: Voters must focus on the national landscape on Nov. 7 rather than local issues and personalities that usually dominate midterm elections.

That would sting Republicans, who trail badly in national polls.

Second step: Voters must be so angry at Washington and politics in general that an anti-incumbent, throw-the-bums-out mentality sweeps the nation.

That would wound Republicans, the majority party.

Third step: Americans must view the elections as a referendum on President Bush and the GOP-led Congress, siding with Democrats in a symbolic vote against the Iraq war, rising gas prices, economic insecurity and the nagging sense that the nation is on the wrong track.

That would destroy Republicans, sweeping them from power in one or both chambers and making Bush a lame duck.

Less than six months out, most Democratic and Republican strategists say the first two elements are in place for now - a national, anti-incumbent mind-set - and all signs point to the third.

The MSM should be scared to death of RATS controlling anything. I do not want them any where near the economy, or national security. Immigration is a huge issue with voters now. Do they want the RATS to throw the borders wide open? Things would be worse with them having power than they are now. There would be NO hope of controlling illegal immigration. This premise is totally STUPID!!!

Interesting. Nothing in this article about how the Democrats are going to deal with President Cheney after the impeachment of President Bush.

There should be an advertising campaign in there somewhere.

Just more of the bragging which is all they have .. and their premise is based on: FALSE POLLS.

They did the same thing in 2004 - with Carville spouting and spewing his doom and gloom for the repubs which he based on the FALSE POLLS.

These dems are so stupid .. they believe the polls which over-sample dems by 11-14% - and then they can't figure out why they actually end up losing elections.

These people never learn. And .. while they're quoting the low ratings for repubs - it's really a general low rating - FOR THE WHOLE CONGRESS. Ignoring that fact will be fatal for the dems.

While we may be ready to throw some repub RINO's out of office - WE'RE REPLACING THEM WITH STRONGER CONSERVATIVES. The dems should be careful what they wish for.

AP apparently thinks the MSM's all-consuming campaign to divide Republicans by hyping differences of opinion over the ports and immigration into red-hot fights is a success. I hope that isn't the case, I like to believe we're smarter than to fall for their "divide and conquer" strategy.

If they were acting like braindead Libs they would be pushing them through Immigration as fast as they could like the coclintons did. At least we are discussing the issue and hopefully will find a solution. Save the dramatics.

hehehehehe Nnotice one thing missing from all that.

#4 To come up with viable solutions and answers to todays problems.

I mean REALLY! The Democrats rely totally on gimmicks and tricks and external devices to win their way into power.

It is as always, how can they win back their power and never how they can better this country.

But I guess, that is too darn HARD and to sit back and complain what others do is so much easier..... They don't even have to stick their neck out if that is all they have to do.

The GOP has certainly squandered our trust and goodwill, but I hardly think they are trailing Demonrats, except in the minds of the press.

Gas prices will stay the same because they along with RINO's won't do what it takes to correct them.

We can thank DEMOCRATS for preventing production of our own energy. They don't care one twit about "protecting the environment", they are perfectly happy to destroy our economy and blame Republicans and there are voters stupid enough to believe their lies.

We don't exactly have articulate Republicans telling voters the truth.

The Dim belief that they're winning in November is more delusion from the left, and a lack of understanding of compartmentalized thinking by them.

Each congressional district is its own universe. Each Senate race is its own universe. What people "feel" generally, and how that translates into votes are two very different topics.

Many people who are dissatisfied with Congress will still vote to return their rep. A great deal can and will happen between now and then. I don't think the Dims can pull it off. Have you read any of their message boards?! Complete and utter chaos! In-fighting and deep splits.

Of course...we are sane people...if the few do not understand this diverseness is to divide...we don't need this nutty thinking among us.

Good Lord, please ease off on the all caps. They hurt the eyes and people don't like being "yelled" at. Some people like myself refuse to read them.

I recently read that there are only 15 or 16 house seats in play this November. The democrats would have to win every one on those to draw even in the House. One misstep by a Dem challenger and its still a Republican majority. There is no way they can get a majority in the Senate this November too. I just don't see the Dems gaining the majority in either house, and with their far out looney left wing candidates, well I think that speaks for itself.

Exactly. As dumb as the GOP is, I intend to do what it takes to keep Pelosi, Reid and their comrades from grabbing my checkbook and wallet. I'm beginning to think that keeping a bunch of bumbling buffoons in Congress is better than turning it over to a bunch of sly, crafty Communists.
