It's true.. they are biased, agenda driven, ect... and I don't think this is a recent phenomenon ... I think this goes back to when we first had "reporters"
The notion that journalists are unbiased is merely a myth..
I've always preferred dealing with people who readily and freely admit they stand somewhere-- everyone has biases, positions, and a certain viewpoint, and as long as they are honest about it, I can apply my own corrections. If needed.
I have always maintained that any reasonably literate and educated person can write a news story.
It is not quantuum mechanics- you get the five "W's," talk to everybody and summarize their stories ( and contrary to what people believe, there aren't two sides to every story, there are often three, four, or more... ) and if you see a need for commentary, add, "In my opinion, this is what is happening."
