Google (No recognition of Memorial Day on Home Page)
Google ^

Posted on 05/29/2006 6:14:15 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

As of 8:10 Central time, Google's home page does not acknowledge our fallen soldiers.

A couple weeks ago, I remember Google's home page noted the birthday of Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle.

I s'pose the defenders of freedom aren't as important to the Clinton-supporting Democrat party donors who created Google.

Not sure why, but you can see one of them back at post #36.

Google is not just a search engine.

Google is part of the left wing, media attack against Christians...

Typing 'baby jesus' at Christmas 2005 was revealing.

Google is not fair and balanced. They attack conservative web sites as well.

I'll bet they'll find a way to commemorate Bastille Day or some other foreign holiday.

Oh, they've already honored Bastille Day... Four times.

There's no recognition of Memorial Day on Clusty either. No mention at all. They must be lefty, communist, Amerikkka-hating pinkos too.

Does clusty make a habit of honoring any special holidays? If it does not, then your comparison is flawed.

All the more reason to avoid them. At least Google honors American Independence Day and Thanksgiving Day among others.

Google is definitely biased.

"Google accused of left-wing bias in ad selection
The mainstream media has long been accused of leaning to the left, and now so has internet search giant Google. RightMarch.com says that Google rejected an ad that was anti-Nancy Pelosi, Democratic House minority leader, even though its wording was very similar to an anti-Tom DeLay ad Google ran with no problem. On its site, RightMarch.com has a screen shot of a Google search for the term “Tom DeLay,” which has an ad on the right side of the screen for DCCC.com that reads: “Learn about DeLay’s many scandals and help us clean up the House!” The site also posts an ad disapproval notification from Google for an ad that reads: “Learn about Pelosi’s many scandals and help us clean up the House!” In the disapproval, Google wrote: "At this time, Google policy does not permit ad text that advocates against an individual, group or organization. In addition, this policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that advocate against a group protected by law.”

A search page that doesn't promote different holidays/historical events is fine with me.

One that does, but ignores the basic traditions of this country is another thing all together.

It doesn't bother me for example that weather page I use has no mention of Memorial Day or any other holiday/event.

There is a difference.

Just because someone said that doesn't make it so.

Do you have any references to that?

ask.com is recognizing Memorial Day. IMO they give better search results than google anyway.

Google's allegiance obviously belongs to its anti-American pro-terorist masters over at MoveOn.org and cANSWER. They are far more comfortable dissing our fallen heroes on Memorial Day than possibly running afoul of Cindy Sheehan and her ilk.

Google is anti Bush.

All you have to do is type in "failure" and press the "I'm feeling lucky" button, and it brings you to the White House web site.

In keeping with our Google-mania..... I know this topic is an old one but I hesitated opening another one - they don't deserve seconds.

I notice now Google is assoverteakettle on World Cup Soccer.... doing flirty graphics and a special
page for people to open up on scores etc.

I wonder if the Olympics had such coverage. How sweet it is.
