To put it mildly, this issue is a thorny wilderness, festering intra-party divisions and brewing voter backlashes. It could inflict additional wounds on George W. Bush's battle-scarred presidency, shrink the GOP's congressional Republican majority and, possibly, hurt some vulnerable Democrats. Let's slice up some of these pitfalls. Stand Up For America !

Shaking up politicians only seems to happen if they get caught stuffinig money in freezers or slapping airport security cops these days. The words "morality," "law-abiding" (or enforcing) and "ethics" no longer have any place near the word "politician" or descriptive of the office.

Breaking news on the Senate amnesty bill----

House leadership just announced that they will not succumb
to pressure from the Senate to fast-track the amnesty bill.
Instead House Speaker Hastert says the House will conduct
"field hearings" on the amnesty bill. Hastert said, "I'm
not putting any timeline on this thing, but I think we
need this thing done right."

This is great news. House leaders are saying that we must
secure the borders first and are resisting the Senate
rush to amnesty.

Ohio Congressman Bob Ney said the federal government "dropped the ball" by instructing local police to let 20 illegal immigrants go.....

....."It's very clear cut. This is all smoke and mirrors from the federal government. INS is not doing its job," Ney said.
