You Can't Stay on the Fence About Immigration

YOU CAN'T STAY ON THE FENCE ABOUT IMMIGRATION

The bitter battle over the immigration bill has become a legislative minefield in this election year, though it's still unclear whether November will see any heavy political fallout as a result.

To put it mildly, this issue is a thorny wilderness, festering intra-party divisions and brewing voter backlashes. It could inflict additional wounds on George W. Bush's battle-scarred presidency, shrink the GOP's congressional Republican majority and, possibly, hurt some vulnerable Democrats.

Let's slice up some of these pitfalls.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Yeah they got a few, but when you measure the drop in the bucket, compared to the Tsunami of over 30 million, I remain cynical.

I'm with you! Show and tell and catch and release equate to the same thing. It is very disturbing to note our nation's borders have less security than Disneyland.

Ford Motor Company is accomodating illegals by building factories in Mexico and upgrading existing facilities there. Our jobs have moved South and it's time for illegals to follow our nation's corporations who unashamedly will go to ANY extent to keep illegals employed.

Ross Perot said, that when NAFTA came, there'd be a giant sucking sound. I'm just wondering now, which side of the border was he standing on when he made that quote. Because, not only did the corporations get sucked south, but employment agencies, and our Chamber of Commerces, and "Coyotes" sucked Mexicans North. America not only lost jobs, but took on 30 million of Mexico's welfare problems. I wonder if this factored into the USDOL's monthly jobs index? And if so, how?

I'd be encourage too, but aren't they still doing 'catch and release'? If so, what's the point, other than show and tell?

FAIR is not convinced either...

Illegal Immigration Sweeps are Part of Administration’s Effort to Enact Amnesty, Not a Signal of Commitment to Enforce Our Laws, Warns FAIR
Washington, DC— After five and a half years of doing almost nothing to enforce of U.S. immigration laws, the Bush Administration has stepped up enforcement activity in recent weeks, culminating in a series of raids yesterday. The sudden attention to immigration enforcement in the interior of the country began on May 26 one day after the Senate approved a massive amnesty and guest worker bill that President Bush backs strongly. That bill faces stiff opposition in the House.

In spite of a massive public relations effort spearheaded by the President himself, the American public remains overwhelmingly opposed to what they believe is an illegal alien amnesty program, and have little confidence that the government will deliver on yet another set of promises to enforce U.S. immigration laws in the future. Wednesday’s raids, which netted gang members, sex offenders and fugitives, appear to be part of a concerted effort by the administration to establish credibility with a skeptical public.

“There is little reason to be impressed that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency is finally starting to do the job the taxpayers are paying them to do,” said Dan Stein, president of FAIR. “We are all delighted that a few hundred serious illegal alien criminals have been taken off the streets, but it is the least we should expect from this agency, not anything above and beyond the call of duty.”

With an estimated 12 to 15 million illegal aliens living in the United States, a comprehensive strategy of immigration enforcement, sustained over a long period of time, will be necessary to deal with what has become a huge national problem. FAIR has released a comprehensive seven point strategy that includes stepped-up border enforcement, worksite enforcement, elimination of nonessential public benefits and services to illegal aliens, greater cooperation with local law enforcement, and increased detention and deportation. (Details of the plan can be found at FAIR's site - PDF file)

“The Bush Administration’s sudden interest in enforcing immigration laws appears suspiciously timed to bolster its effort to enact a massive illegal alien amnesty and guest worker program,” observed Stein. “Given this administration’s track record, there is every reason to believe that their interest in enforcement will wane just as suddenly should an amnesty and guest worker program ever be enacted.

“It is sad at best and cynical at worst that the White House is trying to use the arrest of vicious gang members, child molesters and other criminals to leverage amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. These steps should have been taken long ago because it is their responsibility to protect public safety. What we saw yesterday was welcome, but it still does not demonstrate a commitment on the part of the government to engage in serious and comprehensive immigration enforcement and it certainly does not justify granting amnesty to tens of millions of illegal aliens,” Stein stated.

Well just look who has an Op-Ed piece in the Washington Times...Comprehensive he says!

Immigration enforcement
TODAY'S COLUMNIST
By Michael Chertoff
June 16, 2006

President Bush has put forward a comprehensive vision for immigration reform that will secure our borders, strengthen interior enforcement and create a temporary worker program that is not amnesty but will provide a legal, regulated path for those seeking work in the United States.

A key part of this strategy is effective worksite enforcement. Simply put, we need to give employers better tools to verify the legal status of their employees. Under the president's plan, we will provide new tools — including a tamper-proof identification card for legal foreign workers and an expanded electronic verification system that will allow employers to quickly and accurately confirm work eligibility.

Dobbs tried to take Pence on the other night. He called him on a few things and even though Dobbs said he had read Pence's Plan, I don't think he was all that informed. Pence kept saying that it wasn't amnesty, but I think that once they are given the ok to come back into the country to work, they are also given the opportunity to become citizens. Pence acts as if sending them home for ONE day, makes it not an amnesty plan. Dobbs tried, but I think he should have been more forceful.

"I'm still trying to figure out the "why" for all this. Why do we need a road four football fields wide? Is there that much traffic that needs to get from Mexico to Kansas City and Winnipeg? Existing roads can't handle it? Why build a brand new border check facility in Kansas City? Why not just expand existing facilities THAT ARE ACTUALLY ON THE BORDER if they don't have enough capacity?

Here's my guess about what this is really about: This is about Wal-mart getting its cheap Chinese goods to its warehouses even faster and cheaper by bypassing West Coast ports and paying Mexicans for the entire cost of transportation. The Chinese goods never once have to touch American hands before they get to Wal-mart. And they're not even willing to deal with the delays of getting their goods through customs, so they're having American taxpayers build a special border office and super-special-fast highway just for them, all for the privilege of getting cut out of handling the transport of the goods, let alone the manufacturing. In fact, it makes moving production to China even more sensible. And we're paying the entire cost of setting this up for them. That's just brilliant.Wow - somebody's paying attention! "

"This "superhighway" is an interim tool to help lay the foundation for economic parity between Canada and Mexico, which is a primary tenet/requirement for a single, fully integrated North American economy. By bypassing the US to bring in cheap goods, cheap labor, and to enable the de-industrialization of Canada, Mexico gets a step up while Canada takes a step down.

Essentially, you end up with a situation similar to the US/Mexican border without the need of a border to enable exploitation."

Interstate 69, which would enhance trade opportunities created by the North American Free Trade Agreement, would connect Texas to Michigan, mainly through existing roadways.

It would be the shortest route from Mexico to Canada.

Transportation "is the lifeblood of our economy. I believe we must finish Interstate 69," U.S. SENATOR JOHN CORNYN (R--Texas), told members of the Alliance for I-69 Texas at their annual meeting. "We must recognize that this is a key project, particularly for the future of our economy and the success of Texas businesses."

I-69's border crossing ports in Texas, from Laredo to Brownsville, handle 49 per cent of all U.S. truck-borne trade with Mexico. Crossing ports in Michigan handle 47 per cent of U.S. truck-borne trade with Canada.

Other states also are working on the interstate, and Canada and Mexico are improving roadway infrastructure to handle additional trade traffic created by NAFTA. "

Just a hunch, but I wonder how much of building this railroad has required use of the recent SCOTUS passing of emminent domain? Would one have anything to do with the other?

Cracks in The Wall of Independence
June 17, 2006 10:29 AM EST

As I said in a recent column, the surrender of America's independence and national sovereignty is the most serious threat we face today. Virtually every issue that patriotic citizens feel is important is significantly impacted by this single concern.

The loss of our independence will mean the loss of virtually every liberty enumerated in our Declaration of Independence and protected by our Constitution and Bill of Rights. There will be no right to life, no right to privacy, and no religious liberty when America loses this fundamental vanguard of national autonomy.

Therefore, the protection of our nation's independence should be a top priority of all true Americans, especially those who call themselves Christians! However, it seems that many of us are asleep at the wheel when it comes to this issue.

Many pro-lifers, pro-family groups, and outspoken conservative Christians are blind, mute, and dumb regarding the loss of our nation's independence and the merger of our country into a global New World Order (George Herbert Walker Bush's term)! Why is this? Are they really that naive, or do they deliberately choose to look the other way?

I personally believe that many of our conservative Christian leaders have become so entangled in GOP politics that they are willingly ignorant of anything that might put them at odds with the Republican establishment. They turn a blind eye for personal benefit.

Regardless of the motive, America is quickly losing its independence, because not enough conservative and Christian leaders are making an effort to stop it! And make no mistake about it, Republicans are every bit as culpable as Democrats in surrendering our national sovereignty!

Accordingly, let me list the issues that directly relate to America's loss of nationhood with the hope that each of us will recognize them to be as important as they truly are.

*President Bush's Current Attempt to Merge the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Jerome Corsi is doing yeoman's work in his attempts to alert the American people to this travesty. If only our national Christian leaders would do the same! (See his latest column on this subject at www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=50618)

As noted in the above-mentioned column, President Bush has already secretly committed the United States to a trilateral regional government with Mexico and Canada. This is being accomplished with the aid and encouragement of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

I have in my possession a copy of a document that was produced in May 2005 by the CFR entitled, "Building a North American Community." (See it at: (www.cfr.org/content/publications/attachments/NorthAmerica_TF_final.pdf) This document lays out the goals and objectives of globalists for creating a North American Union (NAU). These goals include the virtual erasure of our national border and the creation of a "perimeter" around the three countries, the free and unrestricted flow of people and goods between the three countries, and a mutual police and military security fence protecting the three countries. In other words, the merger of the U.S., Mexico, and Canada into one governmental body!

The seed for the NAU was planted by President Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and (then) Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin back in March 2005 when they created a trilateral commitment to regional government by signing a document known as the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" (SPP). (View it online at: spp.gov) Remember that this was done without any oversight, or even knowledge, of any legislative body of our government.

*Illegal Immigration

President Bush's demand for a "guest worker" (translated: amnesty) program stems from his commitment to the SPP agreement referenced above. If America is to be merged into a regional government, it must lose its cultural, economic, religious, and yes, even racial distinctiveness. Massive Mexican immigration to the United States accomplishes all of this and more.

Please know, too, that my web site contains what is arguably one of the most complete compilations of illegal immigration information on the Internet. Check it out at www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/immigration.html

*The Patriot Act

There are not enough words to describe the dangers and problems associated with this Draconian piece of legislation! In a nutshell, the USA Patriot Act eviscerates many, if not most, of the guaranteed liberties codified in the Bill of Rights. It is no hyperbole to say that the Patriot Act could have been written by leaders of Germany's Third Reich. In fact, many of the elements of the Patriot Act are eerily similar to the old German regime. Obviously, freedom and independence cannot survive a police state, and that is exactly what the USA Patriot Act paves the way for!

Again, my web site contains copious information regarding the Patriot Act, including my attorney-son's legal thesis of the Act (www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/TimBaldwin.htm) and my radio interview with former congressman Bob Barr (www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/Interview_Barr.html).

We have also compiled a "ton" of insightful articles and compelling data explaining the dangers of the USA Patriot Act. See it at www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/patriotact.html

*Gun Control

America is the last major power in the world that holds to the doctrine of private ownership and possession of firearms. Without a doubt, the private possession of firearms is the main reason (humanly speaking) that America has been able to maintain a semblance of freedom for these two hundred-plus years! Any attempt to restrict the right of the citizenry to keep and bear arms must be viewed as tyrannical and vehemently resisted! Nothing serves the interests of globalism and harms the interests of independence more than gun control!

While I appreciate the efforts of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and am, myself, an Annual Member, the organization that is doing the best job defending our Second Amendment freedoms is Gun Owners of America (GOA). Under the able leadership of Larry Pratt, GOA is the most consistent and courageous defender of the right to keep and bear arms that I know of. I am proud to be a Life Member and urge all my readers to also join this fine organization. (See them on the web at www.gunowners.org/)

*Encroachment Upon Private Property Rights

Private ownership of property by the common man is a bane for globalists! If individuals are to be herded into regional communities, private ownership must be severely restricted. America's historic "castle" doctrine is another formidable obstacle to the dream of national interdependence. Attempts to reduce and even abolish private property have been ongoing for years. Therefore, Americans should vigorously oppose any and all attempts by governmental or even international entities to trample private property rights!

The leading organization for private property rights is the American Policy Center (APC), which is led by Tom DeWeese. (See them online at www.americanpolicy.org/)

*Adulterating The English Language

At no time in America's history did immigrants not understand that part of their assimilation into American society was the obligation to learn the English language-until now, that is. That Americans are now expected to underwrite the usage of foreign languages inside our own country and that foreigners have come to expect and even demand that America accommodate their languages is not only insulting to our people and heritage, it portends a serious threat to the national well being of our posterity!

*Mandatory Multiculturalism

America has its roots in Protestant Christianity! That fact is indisputable! That is not to so say that all of America's founders were born-again believers. Some were not. However, all of them, even Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, held the Christian faith to be superior to all other faith systems and understood that America was a distinctively Christian nation. In fact, Biblical law and principle form the cornerstone of our entire system of law and government! America can never lose its liberty and independence as long as it maintains an allegiance to Christian ideology. One does not have to be a practicing Christian to appreciate the primacy and importance of America's deeply rooted Christian heritage.

The current preoccupation with multiculturalism is anathema to America's future independence. While it is true that people of all faiths are afforded freedom and asylum here, America cannot lose its distinctively Christian faith system without sacrificing its very existence!

As stated earlier, both major parties are equally to blame for the erosion of our national sovereignty. With only few exceptions, Republicans and Democrats alike are facilitating America's demise.

Thankfully, the American people do have alternatives. There will be several independent candidates running for state and federal offices this year. I urge my readers to examine these candidates and support those that will stand for constitutional government and independence.

Leading the charge is the Constitution Party (CP). They will field scores, if not hundreds, of candidates this fall, and I predict that 2006 will be a banner year for them. I expect CP candidates to do very well in November.

The Constitution Party is the one national party that boasts a platform that is absolutely committed to the preservation of constitutional government and to national sovereignty. Please take a close look at the party and see if they will have any candidates in your state or community this fall. They are located online at www.constitutionparty.com/

Independence and national sovereignty form the brick and mortar in the wall that (under God) protects the liberties and future of the American people. The abovementioned issues form the cracks, which, if allowed to grow, will most certainly collapse the great wall of independence that keeps America free. We cannot allow this to happen!

Thanks Kimberly!

Haverty said an initial $300 million development phase for Lazaro Cardenas planned with Wal-Mart and Hutchison participation, with more investment seen possible, has "the potential to transform our company."

In Hong Kong, Hutchison spokesman Anthony Tam said the company did not wish to disclose plans for Lazaro Cardenas.

But Haverty said most of the $200 million Kansas City Southern has earmarked for investment in Mexico in 2006-2007 will be for track from Lazaro Cardenas.

Congressman Culberson said, "Unfortunately, the Administration signed a totalization agreement with Mexico on June 29, 2004, and the White House will not let Congress see it, which makes me very suspicious. Reliable reports tell me that this agreement will put every illegal alien from Mexico and their entire extended family anywhere in the world on our overburdened Social Security system. I strenuously oppose the effort to legalize illegal aliens through the Senate bill, and I will vigorously oppose any effort to open up our Social Security system to illegal aliens and their families through this totalization agreement. The Appropriations Committee agreed with me today that we should not place this immense and totally unfair burden on our Social Security system."

Just yesterday someone told Kitty Pilgrim (filling in for Lou Dobbs) that they want to give the responsibility of deciding who should be given leagal status to the private sector -- the very people who are employing illegals would decide who stays, sort of putting the rooster in charge of the hen house.

I noticed at the top of the pyramid sits Chertoff and Rice.

I found this comment on the forum you linked interesting:

For example, in a recent NORAD agreement that's posted on the US Embassy to Canada's website, Canada and the US have already agreed to develop shared foreign policies - not integrated, not separated but similar, but jointly developed. They've also agreed to combine military and civil (police) databases into a single integrated system. This process is in full gear, yet receives minimal or no media attention.

The reason that they're establishing the foundation prior to establishing the actual Union is simple. There's still enough Americans left who understand that the liberties and freedoms promised by the US Constitution will no longer be gaurunteed if we abandon it for a regional political system.

There are also enough of us who recognize the fact that this corporated driven exploit has nothing to do with government goodwill or the benign eventuality of a global economy. That ideology is part of the media campaign dedicted to subtly transform popular belief to move away from country and into the globe, with the focus on economy. It's a distraction that minimizes historic beliefs in self-government and self-determination, substituting them for a belief in increased bottom lines, even when that increase doesn't reach personal bank accounts.

The North American Union will take place, but not until those who stand strongly opposed to this unconstitutional and treasonous activity have been identified as criminals and/or terrorists and a significant amount of blood has been shed in an attemp to protect the rights of those who won't let our Constitutions be shredded by the globalists

How was this accepted by their wealthy benefactors at that luncheon? These guys are really in a vise, aren't they? Two choices: Pi$$ off their money machine or pi$$ off the voters with very long memories. What we have to watch is what happens AFTER November 7th.
