To judge by most media reports you see on the Australian Defence Force in Australia, they build bridges, repair water supplies, and the like in areas where disaster has struck - and, of course, the ADF does do those things and does them well. But you don't often get to see them doing their primary job, unfortunately, and people need to be reminded of that periodically. In Iraq and Afghanistan - well, the media has shown a bit, but generally they don't seem to want to get close to the action. From a media perspective, East Timor is pretty good - dangerous enough that the soldiers soldier, but not so dangerous, that the media can't get their cameras in.
Good work! Thanks.
Aussie troops are first rate.
Good pictures.
The US has been evacuating American citizens and the American ambassador. My hubby has been working this issue all weekend.
Bump!
Great photos -- thanks!
Thanks naturalman1975. Keep the folks informed.
LOL! They're not too hard to look at, that's the truth!
