Hagel thinks the length of the Senate bill makes it better. It doesn't. It just provides more ways to get around the law and more work for the courts to figure it out.
The sad fact is that we don't know how many illegals are here, where they work, how many receive EITC payments, pay into SS, pay taxes, receive social services, etc. How can you set good public policy without knowing the extent and breadth of the problem? Secure our borders and enforcement of our existing laws first before cmprehensive immigration reform.
Thanks for the backgrounder on Tony Orlando, and thanks for your terrific tagline!!
Oh, a couple of million Chinese, Indians, Argentinians, Congoese, et al may qualify. The important point is that WE get to choose who we allow in, not the illegal immigrants.
OMG.
If the are illegal and have been working illegally how does one prove when and for what they have work in order for tax to be collected.
Surely if they worked illegally (money in back pocket) there will be no records or will it calculated on the going rate for the job they admit they were doing.
Be my guest. You can add to it too from the links.
There was a great read on FR yesterday too if people want to get an uplift for Memorial Day by a fellow Freeper.

I prefer: replace a Rino with a conservative. ;-)
It gets worse than that. The Senate bill has different rules for people who have been here less than two years, 2 to 5 years, and more than five years. Imagine how difficult that is going to be to enforce. Moreover, the Senate bill wants to deport people who have been here less than two years ignoring the fact that we can do that now under existing laws.
Howard Dean's brother along with MoveOn.org & liberals are trying to defeat Joe Liberman because he supports Iraq war. Evan Byoh, is nowadays voting with liberals fearing similar backlash. 'nough said.
How dumb does "President" Frist think the American people are? Very bad performance from someone who should have stuck to medicine, IMO.
Bill Kristol now downplaying the opposition within the GOP to the Senate bill. Kristol doesn't get it.
What were the details of the campaign finance reform bill?
Further, how do you figure out how long an "undocumented" person has been in the country. I am imagining Joe Isuzu "Trust ME".
To liberals, everyone who disagees with them is in an underclass. They hate capitalism, freedom, our market economy, the military and America. Yet, they want people to vote them into office so they can create their vision of utipia. Amazing.
Too bad, but for his arrogant behaviour bloggers would have demolished ABC for their Hastert story.
NBC is putting the interviews with former presidents on its web sites.
My pleasure, Rod.
