Crawford: Hillary Takes No Prisoners

Because her husband takes no prisoners when confronting his political enemies, rivals for the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination fear to take on Senator Hillary Clinton, now widely touted to be the candidate most likely to lead her party's ticket two years from now, a noted political guru says.

According to political analyst Craig Crawford, that leaves just three potential rivals of the New York senator who can safely take the gloves off when dealing with her: former vice president Al Gore, failed 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry and his running mate John Edwards.

Writing in the May 29 issue of "CQ Weekly," Crawford predicted that Gore "could join the 2004 Democratic team, John Kerry and John Edwards, in what would be an exclusive club: potential rivals to New York’s junior senator who would have nothing to gain against her by keeping the gloves off."

None of the three, Crawford wrote, would have any interest in the vice presidential spot under Hillary and would have no reason to cuddle up to her in the hope of getting the nod as her running mate.

He went on to explain, "Gore spent eight years in office as next-in-line; it is impossible to imagine Kerry accepting a demotion after running in the top spot; and Edwards has already played second fiddle."

As for other Democrat presidential hopefuls, so far none has dared to attack Hillary, Crawford wrote, noting, "They all act like she is not there, as if they should be taken seriously without articulating why the conventional wisdom predicting her nomination is wrong."

Aside from the obvious fact that going negative on Hillary would doubtlessly doom any chances of being her running mate especially since "Bill Clinton is well known for a take-no-prisoners stance against political foes," Crawford wrote, "It will be interesting to see if any of the also-rans are prepared to go after her," adding, "The first to do so can join the club of serious presidential contenders."

Right now, the sole club members are Gore, Kerry and Edwards.

Crawford took a look at each one:

The Klintoons may not take prisoners, but they leave a lot of bodies in their wake.

Someone (my bet would on The Swimmer) will authorize the release of the Barrett Report. At that point Hillary will be toast.

Crawford: Hillary Takes No Prisoners

Dean was unstoppable until the Dean Scream, or really when the press decided to diss him.

When it comes to the scary and strange, Hillery will outdo Dean. No one can scream better that she. The front runner status is a curse. Hillery is cursed. She is nothing.

Nonsense. There is a rabid left that will find it's voice and challenge Hillary for her Iraq vote. That is the original sin to Dummies, and can not be forgiven or forgotton. Someone like Russ Feingold or Howard Dean who has a more pure pedigree as a true leftist is certain to challenge The Witch and spare little in the condemnation of her as a flip-flopping, carpet-bagging, opportunist. And crypto-fascist neo-conservative. (Seriously, this is how they think and talk.)

I would say there is a 25% chance the Dummies will run another McGovern. This is because of the overwrought emotions that are held by the far left, who still control the party. The McGovernites sponsored take over of the party apparatus after the 1968 Chicago festival and subsequent defeat of Humphrey by Nixon.

Sure is.

Almost as conducive to the production of (projectile) liquid laughter as is the line, "political analyst, Bill Schneider."

<< ....(failed "health care" guroo-ette, Mrs Cli'tion) , (failed 'presidential' candidate) Al Gore, failed 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry and his (failed) running mate John Edwards. >>

What a wonderful gift package to whomsoever wins the Republican's nomination.

Or, better yet, given the mess of ineptitude, corruption and malfeasence into which today's predominently RINO Republicans have degenerated, to the Constitution Party's candidate.

BUMPping

If Kerry, Gore and Edwards are the answer...it's a pretty stupid question.

Not Dean. He has already made his deal with the devil.

Dean is nothing more than a vehicle for Clinton to look moderate. He was given the DNC job as a ploy.

He has two duties:

1. to make sure he articulates a very left of center point of view.

2. to spend as much money on state and local elections as possible and drain funds from the DNC, so that no one will have the funds to challenge Clinton.

My guess is that he has been promised some cabinet position if Clinton wins.
