STDs Running Rampant In Retirement Community

Doctors said sexually transmitted diseases among senior citizens are running rampant at a popular Central Florida retirement community, according to a Local 6 News report.
A gynecologist at The Villages community near Orlando, Fla., said she treats more cases of herpes and the human papilloma virus in the retirement community than she did in the city of Miami.
"Yeah, they are very shocked (to hear the diagnosis)," gynecologist Dr. Colleen McQuade said. "I had a patient in her 80s."
"More and more senior citizens are ending up in the gynecologist office, and their diagnosis is a sexually transmitted disease," Local 6 reporter Vanessa Medina said.
Local 6 featured Louis Franklin, who used to date in the community at least three times a week.
"I have had a better dating life since I have been here than I have ever had," Franklin said. "I know there are things going around."
A doctor blamed Viagra, a lack of sex education and no risk for pregnancy for the spike in sexually transmitted diseases at The Villages.
"All I can repeat are the things I have heard which are things like, 'Should I bring the little blue pills over tonight?'" community singles group president Richard Matwyshen said.

Thanks for the info, Gondring. I knew about the lack of effectiveness condoms had against HPV, but I wasn't aware the number of cancer deaths was that high.

Maybe we need a sex ed class for the elderly?

Maybe we need a sex ed class for the elderly? 1. In.
2. Out.
3. Repeat if necessary.

Well, they _did_ know it, but they forgot it. :-)

"where sex flows from the media devices..."
Just because sex flows so freely, does not mean it is correct in it's content.

The Villages has an Alzieimers Club. The women get implants, and the men get Viagra. Problem is the women have hard breast, and the men have erections but they don't know where to put them.

I am a retired person in The Villages. In my spare time, I have conducted some research on Dr. McQuade. Apparently, she is nothing more than a drama queen and a very lousy doctor. Dr. McQuade has been fired from several jobs, she failed her medical boards three times, and she lost her hospital priveledges at The Villages Regional Hospital. The only reason she started a story without any justification (herpes and HPV are not reportable, thus no statistics are available) was to fulfill her need for sensationalism.

Wow, being retired, you could also look up the definition of slander. And, go ahead and contact The Villages Regional Hospital and tell them they have a drama queen on their hands.
Dr. McQuade is still listed as being employed at VRH

There must be something in FR's drinking water this month, people are attacking messengers, in this case the doctor, rather than the message.
Anyway, if someone were to call, which of your four claims would they find out?
That "she is a drama queen,"
that "she is a lousy doctor"
that "she failed her medical boards three times", or
that "she lost her privileges at The Villages Regional Hospital"?
Or would a hospital administrator perhaps state:
"Why, there are no warts, herpes, STDs in The Villages, the Local TV6 report is false."
Or would a hospital administrator state:
"Why, yes, we have seen cases of STDs, and some residents are just red-faced at having cases of warts, herpes, and STDs associated with the golf cart set in The Villages."
Again, a welcome to FR;)

Unintended consequences from viagra?
I wonder if any one has looked at the suicide rates for middle aged men lately? I suspect they are way down.

20 years ago the same thing was going on at Sin City Cslifornia.
A friend of mine whose psrents were there said it was really a hoot, they were riding off into the desert on their 3 wheel bicycles, getting it on in the trash bins, and the place was like a swap party.
