Imagine if your kid or spouse was killed or injured in this necessary battle for national survival and the POTUS and his fellow incomptents let a bunch of socialist trators have free reign to shape public opinion at home.

It's possible that the Administration does not know the exact, specific, true details of every second of this incident. As a result, if they open their mouths too early and get the smallest, most insignificant detail wrong, the Dems in Congress along with their allies in the leftist press will happily jump on that. And try to blow it up out of proportion, into some sort of scandal (like they did with the Cheny shooting incident)
