Did you read #76?
"I admit I was a bit "testy" last night. My point is that the terrorist mission, as we have seen repeatedly, is to kill in an indiscriminate fashion. That is not our mission.
Back in my day, we used to refer to hyper vigilance as the "pucker" factor. My son, who is home on R&R, refers to it as Battle Rhythm.
When the adrenaline is flowing heavily and then a brother is killed by an IED, rational thought can become subordinated to pure passion.
While I do not condone that which may have occurred, I can understand the emotions that come into play."
Now, if you wish to discuss PC bullshit, as you call it, we can go at it.
"Press won't be able to play this one the way they did Abu Ghrabib"
Are you kidding? That was nothing compared to this. If the military report shows the worst, this is going to be terrible.
The Leftists and the Pan Arab fascists will be using this constantly and not to mention Osama and the Islamist extremists.
The media will be labeling all our armed forces "baby killers" within days.
Iran lies to the north of Israel too. The Russian bear may be an indirect ally of Iran in the latter's goal to destroy Israel with atomic weapons.
I'm not so sure that's not the scenario playing out.
Agreed.
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
"Subhumans".
Then what the what are we doing there?
The only people that 'allowed' (or practically cheered) Terrie's death was the rabid leftists. Most of the conservative Christians were sick about it. I should know, cause I was sick the whole month of April due to the anger I suffered over that incident. And I felt just as helpless as Terri's family no doubt felt. Godless leftists will be punished by God for their part and their 'let Terri die' sentiments. NOT those of us that were literally sickened by the sight of our judicial system gone mad.
"I will probably get flamed for saying this but ... I feel that Americans were very reckless to allow the brutal death of Terri Schiavo. I do declare, I would rather be shot in the head by a crazed Marine than die like she did.
On a different forum, I said that I feared for the future of the US, after the way she was treated. One poster replied - "Oh yes. God will punish us for allowing her murder."
I refuse to shop anywhere that offers up Memorial Day sales ... one sign at a strip mall absolutly infuriated me. It said "Have A Happy Memorial Day" ....
In Australia, ANZAC Day is a real memorial to their service people ... no special sales, nothing ... the whole country closes down ....

Jane Cummings
Yes I did and I am very disappointed in the lack of warrior spirt at the Corps and BDE level. We are in a shooting war. F*** politics. F*** political correctness. Take off your damn class A's and get into some DCU's and grab a weapon and a shit load of ammo. When the bullets fly, the only things that matter are the guy on either side of you and completing the mission. PERIOD. And that comes from experience with more firefights under my belt than I have hairs on my ass. And I have a pretty hairy ass.
From the facts as I understand them, it does appear that some punishment is necessary. I'm just saying that significant mitigating factors from the inherent combat stresses are obvious to me.
Your macho attitude and bitterness towards authority renders you rather suspect in my book. You are not demonstrating the traits of a professional NCO.
Guys like Murtha and Kerry have sold their souls to the political devil.
Have you read Bill Sammon's "Strategery"? It is a brilliant condemnation of the Left and the MSM toadies.
Enjoy.
Oh, brother.......get over yourself.
So, MamaLucci, in Post 45 you flat out imply that an American pilot in Kosovo should have been tried for a war crime and, when you are challenged with the specific facts of that particular case in Post 80, all you have to say for your sorry self is:
"Oh, brother.......get over yourself."
If you are going to slander our servicemen with cheap shots, MamaLucci, either be prepared to back up your accusations with facts or be prepared to have your slander shoved right back down your ignorant throat.
I see, so that's what that pic was about. Thanks.
My "macho attitude" has gotten two platoons of soldiers under my command back home in one piece, with a few PH's along the way (two of which were mine). And we accomplished every mission we were tasked with. Just who the hell are you to quesion my professionalism and dedication to duty and my soldiers. And as for my disdain for "authority" that goes to the Corps and BDE Level, not BN, CO and PLT level. If I did not question questional policies that place the soldiers under my supervision at unusual risk what kind of NCO would I be?
And btw, how many wars have you served in? I leave in one week for my THIRD.
But, then again, if you were this vocal about it in a real world situation, some First Sergeant would leave a size 12 boot print on your "Hairy" ass.
If you are indeed going into harm's way, be safe and return to your family in one piece. However,if you are playing some fantasy tough guy role, a pox on you.
