Regardless, I believe that if you could demonstrate to a jury just what it's like to have an IED go off in your face, tearing heads and limbs off a couple of your buddies, they would see how this kind of dreadful outcome is occasionably inevitable.
God isn't going to forgive our country because you have to ask to be forgiven and the majority of our population has become too arrogant and disrespectful of God to think they need forgiveness. People like Murtha are accorded hero status by the traitorous MSM while true patriots are dismissed as bigots and mental Neanderthals because they love our nation and it's great heritage of God fearing men and women who trusted God while they built the greatest nation ever to exist on planet earth.
There is a day of reckoning coming, and many Americans will discover too late that they threw away the best of everything God offered and held onto worthless trinkets offered by His enemy. God chose Israel to be His channel of blessing and salvation to the human race, but when Israel rejected His favor and lusted after the sensual idols of it's pagan neighbors God allowed Israel to be taken captive and then dispersed in exile around a cruel, hostile world for 2500 years. Americans seem to believe we are God's latest chosen people because he has so richly blessed us, but if He didn't spare His true chosen people when they turned against Him He certainly won't spare us.
You can laugh at this old fundamentalist Christian and his hellfire and damnation Christianity, but the laughter will die away fast when mushroom clouds start rising over America's cities. Fanatical, militant, and demonic Islam is in the process of rapidly acquiring the means to destroy this nation even at the cost of hundreds of millions of it's own people's lives, and the great majority of Americans are too absorbed in our pleasure-mad pursuits to even notice. God's prophets of ancient times foretold the coming war between Israel and it allies vs Islam and an ally lying far to it's north, IOW Russia. Many bible prophecy scholars believe that Israel's ally will be a revived and reinvigorated European Empire similar to the old Roman Empire which once included most of today's western Europe. The leader of that empire, who will later be revealed to be AntiChrist, will ingratiate himself with Israel by defending her against the Islamo-Russian alliance, but will then turn against her 3-1/2 years later and attempt to destroy her as fervently as Hitler tried to eradicate the Jews in his time.
That proposed prophetic scenario begs the question, where is the US at that time and why is it not a party to the Israeli-Euro alliance? It seems entirely plausible to me that the US may no longer be a great nation of major level power and influence on the world scene when those events unfold. How would that come to be in the reasonably near future considering that we are the only superpower now extant? Could it be that our nation will be reduced to subsistence level existence by a massive nuclear sneak attack from Islam? If the limp wristed left takes control of national defense and foreign policy decisions, can anyone doubt that given time they would dilly-dally away our present overwhelming military advantage while concurrently allowing militant Islam to develop the means to make the first strike?
I am not saying that I fully accept that interpretation of bible prophecy, too many times in recent years over-eager prophecy interpretors have made fools of themselves by breathlessly predicting earthshaking events that did not occur. The biblical test of a prophet is perfect predictions every time, God doesn't make mistakes and he did not lie through the quills and ink of his authentic prophets. I am prepared to revise my opinion regarding the prophecy interpretations I have alluded to as more events unfold that bear on those great matters.
But I do believe that history is a reliable guide to future events, and if history shows us anything it is that great nations and empires grow fat, self indulgent, and dissolute in time and that they will fall as surely as they arose. I believe it is evident from historical fact that God's prophecies are as accurately and precisely fulfilled as the revolutions of the earth around the sun. The odds of hundreds of old testament prophecies concerning the timing and order of events involved in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ being fulfilled by random chance exactly as prophesied have been calculated by a respected statistical mathematician as being beyond the realm of possibility. Yet those prophecies were fulfilled to the letter even though that was impossible according to man's best calculations. Understanding the meaning of God's prophecies before they are fulfilled is the weakest part of the equation, seeing their fulfillment in retrospect as many of the OT prophecies can now be seen is the easy part.

Just what is ineviable? These Marines were taught the laws of war and were ordered to obey them. In particular:
"... treat civiians humainly and private property, as if it were your own. Do not violate civilian's rights in a war zone. Make sure civilians are protected from acts of violence, threats and insults, both from the enemy and from any of your fellow Marines."

Code of Conduct, Article VI.
"I will never forget that I am an American, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America."
The Marine's involved filed false field reports regarding the injuries sustained to many of these civilians. This matter will be handled under the UCMJ.

I will probably get flamed for saying this but ... I feel that Americans were very reckless to allow the brutal death of Terri Schiavo. I do declare, I would rather be shot in the head by a crazed Marine than die like she did.

In that particular case, the bridge was being targeted by a missile fired several miles away. When the missile was fired, the bridge was empty of any traffic and no train was visible to the pilot.
The missile traveled for those several miles and, as it reached the bridge and was locked onto its intended target, the train crossed the bridge just like a child running into the street in front of your moving car. The video that showed this was repeatedly shown on television.
Accidents happen in both war and peace. The South's beloved Stonewall Jackson died after being shot by mistake by his own troops and kids get run over every day of the year on the steets of America by drivers who were obeying every traffic law in the book.
There is a difference between innocents or friendly forces being killed by accident in the heat of battle and lining up civilians and shooting then in cold blood or deliberately fragging the tent where your comrades are sleeping.
Each case is different and each case deserves impartial military justice that is free of political agendas where the accused servicemember is either crucified or lionized depending on whether Bill Clinton or George W. Bush was Commander-in-Chief at the time.
