Three Palestinian youths in their twenties, two of whom were related, were killed and five others wounded in an explosion in the Gaza Strip on Friday.
The blast occurred after one of the youths picked up a stray IDF shell and brought it home, Army Radio reported.
Initial reports on the cause of the explosion were conflicting. Palestinian sources claimed that it occurred during IDF shelling, while the army denied that it was firing on Gaza at the time of the incident, and said that the three were handling explosives to be used in a terror attack when the bomb detonated prematurely.
Earlier Friday, another Palestinian was killed while working his fields in Beit Lahiya. IDF artillery hit him in the stomach, Palestinian officials said. The army said it was investigating the report.
In Israel on Friday, three Kassam rockets were fired at the western Negev from Gaza. All of the rockets landed in open territory, and security forces were sweeping the area in an effort to locate the rocket remains.
While no one was wounded and no damage reported as a result of the Kassams, a Palestinian stabbed and lightly wounded an Israeli who stopped to offer him a ride on Highway 60 near Jerusalem.
The man, who was stabbed in the upper back, was treated at the scene. His attacker fled.
Another Darwin award nominee...
One for not knowing how to handle the shell, and 2 more for being stupid enough to be in the same building with it while person 1 was handling it.
I believe the Israelis/ They were probably terrorist going to see Allah without 72 virgins
Serves the vermin right.
You forgot another one who stopped to offer a ride. He survived, and hopefully with a lesson learned.
"HAT TRICK!"
Haven't his parents taught him, "Son, if you see a shell with a cell phone on it.."
His parents forgot to teach him about the kind of people to whom one should NOT offer rides. Well, now he hopefully learned from experience.
Work related accident.
