S. 2611 - the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006

Shouldn't this be called "The Voter Registration Act of 2006?"

He used to be. I don't know who had the gun to his head, but this vote was just wrong. I told the staff that if he voted for this bill I was done with him. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I will not vote for him again.

What's funny is that NumbersUSA gives my senior senator (Byrd) an A+ in the past twenty years on immigration. I think he voted against this for different reasons though, he's just a plain out racist.

I have to agree with your statement except for the term racist. What European, German, Chinese, Japanese, Muslim, or Mexican for example wants to become the minority party of their home country? I admit I just don't know how to justify this thinking but I certainly do understand it.

I can't say that I'm surprised by the betrayal of America by Senator Smith (R) Oregon, since his money comes from illegal labor.

I am disappointed however.

My Senator is a Communist who cites Scottish Law, bails out leftist murderers, thinks he alone was the Warren Commision, and should be tried for treason against America. In 1776 he would have lined up against a wall.
He's a pathetic pipsqueak, a whiny, white-guilt RINO who needs to be retired!

Brownback is a RINO. He sold us out, and if you check his voting record, he ususally votes with the liberals. I have known him since the mid 60's when we were in College together, and it has been all about Sam.

Vote by Senators on Immigration Bill by party:

Democrats
Republicans
Total
Tot.%
In Favor
39
23
62
63
Opposed
 4
32
36
37

Party % voting FOR bill
91%
42%

Party % voting Against bill
 9%
58%
 -
 -

As upset as I am about the 42% of R-senators voting in favor of this, we must not lose sight of the critically important dominant factor in this vote: 91% of the Democrats voted for this bill, and that both of the Senators not voting were Dems in favor of such a bill.  In addition, those D's opposed are on the bubble for re-election, and so are trying to pacify their voting public.

A strong majority of Republicans voted AGAINST this bill, and I believe that several more can be persuaded if need be.

Don't give up on this fight.  It is very important that the House oppose the amnesty portions of this bill, and be willing to throw it out if need be.  I was in my Representative's office yesterday, and the phones were not as busy as they need to be on behalf of this cause, though they were overwhelmingly against the Senate's forgiveness of lawless behavior on the part of both the "immigrants" and their employers.

You can all make a difference in this, but the focus must be placed on the House.

Feinstein and Boxer voted yes. Who could have foreseen that?

It boggles the mind to think that these two moonbats are still in power out here...

Sigh...as I will continue to, (try) vote them out.

>We may have lost this battle, but we are going to win the war!

Ummm, have you noticed
that despite media hype,
despite web-based hype,

people at bus stops
do not talk immigration,
people out shopping

don't talk about it,
people at the mall don't talk
about illegals . . .

It's a non-issue
among the general public!
The only people

who care are the groups
funding the hype! Look around.
Politicians who

"embrace" this topic
will get laughed at by voters
because no one cares!
