Dull Hillary stumbles and the memory of Bill lingers on

(Filed: 24/05/2006) Hillary Clinton may be the Democratic front-runner for the presidency but she seems to have a lot to learn about campaigning for the White House.

In a weighty speech to journalists at the National Press Club in Washington yesterday, the senator squandered an opportunity to shine before a critically important audience - the journalists who will present her to the public if, as expected, she declares her candidacy for the 2008 nomination.

It began well enough. Resplendent in a lemon yellow two-piece and expensively bejewelled, her star power was plain the moment she entered the room. Everywhere, necks craned for a sight of the immaculately coiffured New York senator.

But then she lost it. The half-hour speech was achingly dull, a meandering lecture on energy policy which left the audience stifling yawns.

We won't be reading/hearing this one in the American MSM.

I suggest she'll run if for no other reason than NOT wanting to return any unused campaign funds she amasses. If she runs, she can undoubtedly hide some of the expenses in her own purse...like she did in California with all that food catering business.

As she droned towards the finish, she looked out at a silent, glassy-eyed audience and acknowledged that her speech was a little unusual. "I know this is probably more wonkish than many of you had anticipated," she said, moments after offering her plans for something called geologic carbon sequestration. "But I feel very strongly about it."

ROPLMAO

Did not care too much for Slick in the early days but listening to him speak WAS fun (but then I miss July/August tent revivals too). She, on the other hand...

"Resplendent in a lemon yellow two-piece and expensively bejewelled . . . "

She was RESPLENDENT and had on expensive jewels? I want to see a picture of that.

Most people don't realize that HILLARY is achingly dull. In every sense of the word.

She has NEVER been a good speaker, never. The press has been kind..if they take their knives out...it'll be fun to watch. I have some friends who are as liberal as you get. Old-fashioned liberal jews. Before last election, they were excited as they were invited to NY to some big event where Hillary and Kerry were speaking. They came home and said Hillary was so boring they could hardly stay awake ... and these were her supporters!

There is nothing more boring than a Marxist control-freak politician droning endlessly on about regulations.

Castro's 6 hour diatribes come to mind.

She preaches rather than lectures.

No mention at all that she was Heckled by some protesters.

If George Bush or some other leading Republican were "Heckled", it would be part of the headline.

she'll run

She has had a presidential campaign office since 1992 at least, a corporation for the purpose of handling campaign donations.

"Most people don't realize that HILLARY is achingly dull. In every sense of the word."

You realize this goes a loooong way in rehabilitating Billy's rep. What's a guy supposed to do to relieve himself of such pain day in and day out?

Before this is over, Billy could be up for sainthood.

Hillary is a dull, monotonous speaker. She's a washed-up lying hag no matter what color she wears. A fancy harness on a mule doesn't make it a horse.

That any American would cast their valuable vote for her is pathetic.

The Clintons are the dregs of society, and they're right where they belong---in politics.
