It's not a dream; I read it on a site which I don't recall. I freely admit that the site may have been wrong. My last name, by the way, is German in origin. I'm third-generation American. I guess I must be a secret German sleeper agent or something.

That depends entirely on the facts. There's a natural presumption that when somebody posts something, he believes it has some sort of relevance. Therefore, somebody who posts something irrelevant (without explicitly stating so), he looks foolish for seeing importance in the trivial. If, for example, I made the effort to create a thread saying that MacBeth had a high school sweetheart named Nancy, which is the same first name as the odious House Minority Leader "FWIW", people would rightly laugh at me for thinking that it had anything to do with anything at all.

And what facts have you gotten out?

Just because his name was changed or his parents (maybe) split when he was very young does not (necessarily) mean he had no significant contact with the world of Islamo-fascism.

Not to sound PC or whatever, but to give a counter example, to show that it DOES happen.. I am very close to a young man, whose father was Arab. The mother was not. His father had very little influence on him growing up, basically, the dad was an a$$hole, and the son hates him to this day. His parents divorced when he was about 10 years old, because of the abuse the dad put his mother through.

The son is nominally a Christian, pro-American, completely, culturally, American, and yet both his first and last name are Arab. He plans to have his last name changed, his first name could pass for Hispanic, as its a very common Arab first name that is used in other cultures.

A vulnerable and confused young man named Jesse MacBeth allowed himself to be used as a tool in a an anti-war video produced by an outfit called Peace Films, which was on their website yesterday. As of 232000Z MAY, the video was still up on YouTube. Watch a few minutes of it if you haven't yet. The powerhouse of the military arc of the blogosphere, Milblogs, was all over this yesterday, and demonstrated the power of subject matter experts with keyboards in debunking bogus bullshit before it could be picked up by the MSM and disseminated globally.

[Slightly off topic: As I write this, I'm listening to Greyhawk and Smash on Right Talk internet radio. Makes it tough to concentrate.]

This was a psychological operation run by the anti-war people, (you know, Cindy Sheehan, Charlie Sheen, ANSWER, and now the Vietnam Iraq Veterans Against the War), which, had it not been debunked so quickly and decisively, would have been picked up by the NY Slimes and CNN and seen in Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan. People would have died over that. 17 people died in riots in Jalalabad last year over Newsweak's Koran-down-the-toilet lie. The rapid debunking of this propaganda saved lives.

This episode, in my mind, validates my whole concept of a Civilian Irregular Information Defense Group, a network of Fighting Keyboardists, active duty, retired, former military, and interested civilians blogging and linking and commenting and blogswarming the poser before he could get any traction. This is how enemy psyops directed at domestic audiences can be countered. Scanners find, pass it to SME's, and the findings are cussed, discussed, fact checked, validated and disseminated within HOURS. This kind of celerity, cooperation and coordination is distributed IO. The DoD IO/PA apparatus can't do this like we can.

Thanks, I don't doubt that there are cases like the one you cite, all I said was that we don't yet know what's relevant or irrelevant in this case, but we want to know ALL about this guy to determine the relevant facts of the story. We DO know he is a depraved hate-America propagandist who put out some very dangerous lies that could have gotten a lot of people killed. Actually, his lies still could get people killed since even the quick debunking here does not prevent the hate-America sites from spreading the tale, especially in the Middle East where there are NO SCRUPLES at all about using blatantly false propaganda. I would not be surprised at all to learn that Jesse Jihad's video turns up on some jihadist videos, etc. down the road -- they may not know or care how quickly and thoroughly he was debunked if they can put the story in front of ignorant audiences.
