Mark Belling On Rush - apologist for do nothing on the border Congress and Bush.
On the border control discussion on Rush's show, stand-in host Mark Belling was a clear example of what is wrong with our past immigration policy and especially what is wrong with it now.
His lame excuses don't cut it. A caller to the show pointed out the laws that are in place now that could be enforced and all Belling did was make more excuses. The same caller pointed out all the programs and welfare that are in place for illegals and lure them to the U.S. and Belling again made excuses.
In the final word, Belling kept falling back on a "its a very difficult situation."
No, it is only difficult if you do not want to do something about it. There are laws to be enforced. Enforce them. There are benefits being offered to illegals. take them away.
There is a wide open border. Bush has the authority now to put troops on the border. DO IT and DO IT NOW! All Bush needs to say it that it is for national security and move the troop there.
If Congress wants to try and stop him, let them have at it. I bet they don't have the courage. Just like Bush does not have the courage to do it.
Belling is so wrong on this I turned off the radio and won't listen to Rush any time that idiot is stepping in as a subsitute host. I don't tune in for BS on the border issue. I can see plenty of that from Bush and Congress (a very few Congressman excepted).
(Sorry for this vanity. I needed to vent).

"Around here, (Dallas) every time you turn on the TV, they are involved in a high speed chase, a auto accident with no insurance and are even killing cops. This has got to stop. "
Actually it just confirms what most of us know. The truly greedy will sell out their neighbors, and their country for profit. The politicians and business owners who desire this cheap labor, don't care one whit about the problems. The problems belong to us, the profits to them.
Greed is not always good.
Because the liberal MSM thinks this is the wedge to split the GOP coalition apart and deliver victory to the Democrats. The illegal alien protests were very carefully coordinated with the press and the Democratic party's political operatives.
Eisenhower's farewell address warned of a military-industrial complex gaining too much influence; the real threat is the media-political complex (which has milked the nonexistent threat of the "military-industrial complex" for all it was worth and then some).
Try kRLA, at 870 kilocycles, which features Dennis Prager opposite Rush's slot. I think he's also on KTIE, at 590. These days, I probably listen to Dennis more than I do Rush. And I believe Bill O'Reilly is still on KABC, at 790.
It won't be fixed. There are not the votes to fix it. I prefer the status quo to amnesty for 10M illegals. Either way the country suffers but I'd rather it be slower than quicker.
Agreed, but it's not too late. Deportation and expulsion are not required to fix this huge problem. All we need to do is STOP the welfare benefits and vigorously go after the businesses who hire them. Then we just sit back and watch them deport themselves because the reasons they want to be here will have evaporated.
If we just had politicians with brains and b@!!s we wouldn't even need to build a fence or increase border security, (except to catch terrorists). The reason why illegal immigration has been spiralling out of control since 1995 is the increase in government benefits and in work opportunities. We have been outsourcing manufacturing jobs to China and hi tech jobs to India, and we have been insourcing labor/construction jobs from unemployed Mexicans and giving them 'free benefits' as an added incentive to come here. This is what our leaders in Washington have created, but it can be reversed overnight if we have the will.
Funny, I remember hearing about the Minute Men BEFORE the protests.
Not really - he just knows that there's nothing anyone can do about it. A big victory for the Right would be no bill ie maintain the status quo. LOL. All this crying about spilt milk is actually becoming quite tiresome. FR used to be a place with pretty stimulating conversations. Now it appears to be frequented by a bunch of complainers who can't seem to get on the new page.
Here's a little historical reference in light of PBS airing Goebbels' diary the other night. The Junkers (wealthy industrialists) were instrumental in Hitler's rise to power. The big concerns like Krupp, et al couldn't give a fig about Nazi political beliefs - they just knew it was good for business. At the end of the war, the execs were neither convicted of war crimes, nor were the industrial concerns broken-up.
Hint: get a clue and get onboard.
I did the same thing and wondered if Rush doesn't have this guy as a type of job security.....no way this guy could ever replace him.
Well I remember hearing about the issue in the 1980s too. But it wasn't fully radioactive until the illegals protested. Then the outrage grew beyond the die-hards to the masses. And leftists enabled and organized these large protests.
You know the Republican Party ops are wishing their constituents were as dumb as the Dems'....
I understood you to say the matter wasn't really an issue, and the president raised it on his own.
This 2004 debate question regarding a de facto invasion of our country by Mexico was considered as important as Iraq, abortion and the other handful of questions posed to the president in that final debate.
Confused by these facts?
You could do something useful and provide us with his answer.
True policy isn't loudly shouted in debates.
It's quietly carried out by bureaucrats.
Well said. The "Joes" I know, including myself, are getting angrier every day over Bush's snide remarks to the American people regarding illegal immigration. He's committing political suicide, the way I see it. He is losing support from those of us who supported him in the past. He's actually trying to intimidate folks into accepting his policies. I heard a quote from the President on the radio yesterday that went something like this:
"I'm am troubled by the tone of this (immigration) debate, -----". Then he went on about how immigration has always been the cornerstone of America, etc etc. But he never used the word illegal.
I turned Belling off early on. I am disappointed in Rush for choosing him as a sub.
What does the percentage of Latinos have to do with anything? You are mistaken if you believe all Latinos are pro-amnesty.
Worse, he's jeopardizing our investment of blood and treasure in Iraq by this arrogant alienation of his support.
He has devoted vast resources of his energies to turn property and rights and privileges that are for Americans--over to Mexicans. He's been real demanding about Americans' "duty and responsibility and sacrifice" but not real hot with the "rights, privileges, and protections."
Joe smells a raw deal. And soldiers come from families like Joe's.
For love of Vicente, Bush is undermining the War.
Don't be such a defeatist, see my post below (# 105). We don't need votes to fix it, just a retraction of their welfare benefits and other "free stuff" we give to them, and the vigorous prosecution of businesses who hire them. They will then deport themselves back to where they came from because the reasons they came here will have dried up.
What does tort reform have to do with enforcing the law?
Not a Californian I gather? Not familiar with racial identification politics? Just who do you think was marching in LA on the first, and biggest, march? Illegals? LOL. A ton of them were 2nd & 3rd generation native borns.
Listen, if you don't even understand the basic fundamentals, there's no purpose in discussing this any further until you're up to speed.
