May 23, 2006--Conducted the night after the primary elections , the latest Rasmussen Reports election poll of the race for Oregon Governor shows Democratic incumbent Ted Kulongoski narrowly leading Republican challenger Ron Saxton 43% to 41%.
Although the incumbent had faced a vigorous challenge from State Treasurer Jim Hill, he won with 54% of the primary vote (Hill drew 29%).
Governor Kulongoski is viewed favorably by 52% of the electorate, unfavorably by 44%. Saxton is viewed favorably by 48%, unfavorably by 41%. Almost twice as many view the governor Very Unfavorably as view the Republican challenger that way.
Forty-nine percent (49%) approve of how the governor is doing his job. Only 8% Strongly Approve.
Fifty-one percent disapprove, and 24% Strongly Disapprove.
Given the state's balanced political environmentin 2004, Kerry won the state with a bare majority of 51% of the voteand voters' mixed views of the incumbent, it looks like the battle for the governor's mansion may be hard-fought right up until election day.
Saxton has to be winning by a legitimate 10% to keep the vote fraud machine in Multnomah County from stealing the election. You watch, if the election is close, Multnomah county will be the last county to submit their returns.

While I can accept RINO's winning election to the Senate in Blue States, I have serious reservations about them being elected Governor. After all, look at the axamples of George Ryan and Bob Taft.
Wonder if the Libertarians will step in once again to give the election to a socialist, as they did in 2002--and in WA in 2004?
sorry I have zero excitement for this election a socialist vs a liberal republican. Im sitting this one out.
But...but...Libertarians are insignificant. .0001% of the vote remember?
just dont vote, I wont vote the constitution party because they are so warped in the abortion issue and god. Im pro life and believe in god but they are just far off the deep end.
Ill pass on voting for governor.
I'll vote, just skipping the governor section. Any advice on other candidates/issues to be on the ballot?
No, they are sometimes 2% or 3% of voters on election day, enough to hand an election to a degenerate, socialist, DemonRat.
I think Roberts is the most important race (Judge), Tom Cox for metro is big, and I like Feldkamp against DeFazio the rest of the races are weak.
Personally Ill just be happy with Roberts getting elected.
