With the exception of the FW190 and the ME262, I have never been a huge fan of German aircraft styling, but boy that is one beautiful and dangerous looking bird!

That's wicked. If I had money and time, flying old planes like that would be my hobby.
German Military of WWII - Cool looking weapons and uniforms.
Thought you'd like this.
This one's a reproduction; I wonder if they used chromium in the engines like the original design called for. Germany ran out of chromium due to allied bombing, so they used more steel in the engine. As a result, the number of hours it could be used before the engines had to be overhauled was absurdly short. Made operating it a complete pain.

Great post. My boys will love it.
Nice video...I didn't think there was any flying condition 262's.
the ME262 and ME 109 really were cool looking.. and although I love the look and the power of the Mustang. My favorite WWII warbird was the enemic P-40 as used by Chenault and the flying tigers.
cool
Thank you for the post.

ME 262
Görings on the phone from Freiburg
Said Willie done quite a job
Hitlers on the phone from Berlin
Says Im gonna make you a star
My Captain Von Ondine is your next patrol
A flight of English bombers across the canal
After twelve theyll all be here
I think you know the job
They hung there dependent from the sky
Like some heavy metal fruit
These bombers are ripe and ready to tilt
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Must they live that I might die
In a G-load disaster from the rate of climb
Sometimes Id faint and be lost to our side
But theres no reward for failurebut death
So watch me in mirrors keep me on the glidepath
Get me through these radars, no, I cannot fail
While my great silver slugs are eager to feed
I cant failNo, not now
When twenty five bombers wait ripe
They hung there dependent from the sky
Like some heavy metal fruit
These bombers are ripe and ready to tilt
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Must they live that I might die
ME 262 prince of turbojet
Junkers Jumo 004
Blasts from clustered R4/M quartets in my snout
And see these English planes go burn
Well, you be my witness, how red were the skies
When the fortresses flew for the very last time
It was dark over Westphalia
In April of 45
They hung there dependent from the sky
Like some heavy metal fruit
These bombers are ripe and ready to tilt
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Must they live that I might die
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Junkers Jumo 004
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Junkers Jumo 004
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Junkers Jumo 004
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Junkers Jumo 004
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Junkers Jumo 004
Must these Englishmen live that I might die
Junkers Jumo 004

(Sorry, it's the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title...) (More Cowbell!)
I had no idea at all that anyone had a 262 that could get off the ground.
AUSGESEICHNET!
Cool ME 262 video ping!
I believe Chuck Yeager shot down 2 of these in a P-51.
Claus Colling is the owner. He's building NEW FW-190's - you can buy one for about 550,000 Euros. He invited my brother and I to his factory in Gammelsdorf a couple years ago. Very nice people and very proud (rightfully so) of the beasts they were building...
