Dubya seems like a very nice fellow and I think well of him. But I do wish he took the immigration problem more seriously. It really bothers me.

The spending orgy and going back on nation building is what broke faith with me. Sorry, but something happened on 9/11/01 that kind of changed the outlook on nation building.

Gunslingr - You use the term "spending orgy". Can you tell me what the most money went to that you disagree with or is that just "bash-Bush" terminology? I know you understand 9/11 and Katrina has added billions to your "spending orgy" but what else.....other than the WOT?

No other man could have led this country post 9/11 - we would have crumbled for a while if not for his leadership. If you dare, and can take an open mind, go to President Bush's words from 9/11 A good reminder.

Great post - We have in office today a fine, fine man. One of the true greats. A man of clarity, of a quiet and steadfast resolve that is sorely lacking in most people today.

I'm honored to have him as CIC / POTUS.

Our base of late has been blinded and have shown a true lack of loyalty to a truly good man. Loyalty is something you give or show simply when you agree with everything.

Maybe it's just me, but we seem to expect so much more from this president than anyone expected of clinton. What did clinton do to fix social security, illegal immigration, terrorism, our high dependence on foreign oil? Nothing, that I can recall. The only thing that clinton had going for him was a robust economy thanks to an overly inflated nasdaq and even that tanked by the time he left.

I totally agree with you. President Bush is a president first and a people pleaser last. Republicans act as though he is some kind of traitor every time he supports a policy that the party as a whole does not favor. (The Dems aren't even worth mentioning; they hated him before he even got elected and had a chance to prove himself).

Your picture of him getting in the plane is heartbreaking after the way his heroism and courage has affected so many lives. Unfortunately, most people never realize what they've got until it's gone. Election 2008 is going to be depressing. I'll have to find someone else to vote for. Granted, I don't agree with every aspect of Bush's vision for America, but I admire him. When I look at his face, I see a man who follows his conscience and wants to do what is best for his country, even when his country is primarily interested in dragging him through the mud.

Thanks for posting this! I still love this President (and his wife, and his v.p.) and pray for him. He has had a lot of things happen during his time as our leader that would make most men fold and yet he stands strong, resolute, and continues to lead with optimism. The media has taken every opportunity to twist, turn and exaggerate every natural and unnatural tragedy to make him look bad. You never hear about the good stuff - like the great economy -- only the bad and the made-up bad. I'm so sick of it. History will tell the true story of GW's greatness.

Well, that's mighty big of you.

But I do wish you Johny-one-notes would take your blow-horns and skip on over to any one or more of the many FR Bush-Bash threads and leave us ONE where we appreciate him and remember that without him, we'd be in a far, far worse place...

go away, your "nice fellow" doesn't cover it up

Ping (Long read, but worth it) - Our CIC understands loyalty....it is a section of our base that does not (and loyalty isn't always standing next to someone when you agree with them).

Yes, indeed! I've read it twice, and may read it again before the night is done. I pray President Bush will read these words and find comfort and hope in them. Lord knows this good man deserves more praise than he's received lately.

If you can't stand even that mild criticism, you are dangerously close to "cult of personality" mentality.
