Gunslingr - You use the term "spending orgy". Can you tell me what the most money went to that you disagree with or is that just "bash-Bush" terminology? I know you understand 9/11 and Katrina has added billions to your "spending orgy" but what else.....other than the WOT?
No other man could have led this country post 9/11 - we would have crumbled for a while if not for his leadership. If you dare, and can take an open mind, go to President Bush's words from 9/11 A good reminder.

And that was in the first three years, so you can't blame Katrina either. Reagan was overridden vetoing a pork laden highway bill, but at least he had the principles to veto it. Bush epitomizes Sowell's observation: "If the Democrats were to propose that all Americans leap off a thousand-foot cliff, moderate Republicans would come up with a compromise proposal that three-quarters of us leap off a 500-foot cliff."
