Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. |
WASHINGTON Two years ago, he was as lonely as the Maytag repairman an obscure congressman trying desperately to raise the visibility of an issue he believed threatened the very security of the U.S.
More recently, he has become a force to be reckoned with, the leader of a powerful House caucus, a Republican who has taken on the president, a man respected for outspoken positions and the political force behind what has become the hottest issue in the nation.
Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus and the undisputed heavyweight champion of the border security issue in the nation's capital, now tells the whole story of the threats facing the nation, the solutions within its grasp and his own personal quest to awaken the political establishment to the seething discontentment gripping America as a result of illegal immigration.
In his new book, "In Mortal Danger," published by WND Books, Tancredo warns that the country is on a course to the dustbin of history. Like the great and mighty empires of the past, he writes, superpowers that once stretched from horizon to horizon, America is heading down the road to ruin.
English historian Edward Gibbon, in penning his classic "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" (ironically published in the year America's Founding Fathers declared independence from Great Britain), theorized that Rome fell because it rotted from within. It succumbed to barbarian invasions because of a loss of civic virtue, its citizens became lazy and soft, hiring barbarian mercenaries to defend the empire because they were unwilling to defend it themselves.
Tancredo says America is following in the tragic footsteps of Rome.
Living up to his reputation for candor, Tancredo explains how the economic success and historical military prowess of the United States has transformed a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles of right and wrong into an overindulgent, self-deprecating, immoral cesspool of depravity.
His recipe for turning things around?
Without strong, moral leadership, without a renewed sense of purpose, without a rededication to family and community, without shunning the race hustlers and pop-culture sham artists, without protecting borders, language and culture, the nation that once was "the land of the free and home of the brave" and the "one last best hope of mankind" will repeat the catastrophic mistakes of the past, he writes.
Tancredo, born and raised in Colorado, represents Colorado's 6th district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to his election to Congress in 1998, Tancredo worked as a schoolteacher, was elected to the Colorado State House of Representatives in 1976, was appointed by President Reagan as the secretary of education's regional representative in 1981, and served as president of the Independence Institute. He serves on the International Relations Committee, the Resources Committee and the Budget Committee, and is the chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus. Tancredo and his wife, Jackie, reside in Littleton, Colo.
It's called sourcing...try it.
What are you sourcing? The claim that Tancredo did something wrong? What did he do wrong?
IS the best you can offer on that note that he didn't check the ID of everyone that the company he hired sent out to do the work?
In that event are you saying that he should have racially profiled every worker that was not white?
"Rome fell because it rotted from within. It succumbed to barbarian invasions"
Tancredo BUMP.
Term Limit Lie
Medically unfit for Vietnam
Illegal workers at his house
Bomb Mecca
and of course...
Term limit was something that did not go as planned. Calling it a lie is spin.
As for vietnam, then you oppose every person that claimed medical status to remove themselves from it. John Kerry and rice comes to mind so does bill clinton. NEWSFLASH this isn't nam.
Illegal workers at his house is something that was beyond his control and you state that he should racially proficle everything he has done ( and the rest of us too) in order to make it proper in your eyes. More spin.
Bomb Mecca as a response to a nuclear detonation here by a terrorist organization of muslim flavor is entirely acceptable and many would demand it.
As for your picture am I to take that as PAC opposition? Female opposition?
Your reasopns are spun or you simply do not care to gather context in your reasoning.
This is a response to you and you may feel free to respond but I have said all I will to you.
Foul mouthed???? I said PISS OFF.
I meant it too.
Take your newbie crap somewhere else.
Weren't you accusing me of spin?!
"I will limit my term". What went wrong? Sheesh!
btw, Your foul mouthed Freepmail is against forum rules, please stop.
You are Tancredo-like. You broke that pledge in less than 60 seconds.
I said piss off in the freepmail, notice YOU took the debate there from here.
I have posted what I found about that issue with term limits in this thread. You are baiting now with that comment.
Piss off is not being deleted from this thread becasue it is not what you are making it out to be.
Admit that all I said was piss off and by the way....leave me alone. ( that would be the meaning of the two words I said to you in freepmail. Stop trying to misrepresent what I said and admit that I said those two words and those two words alone.
Stop baiting then. leave me be.
Please refrain from freepmailing me too.
He knows what's he's saying is not only spin but a lie.
You can see this thread, which is dozens of posts made by spiff and I and others to him about his lies and misrepresentations, Hard Core Republicans Are Fleeing President, i.e., post #1791, which is a repost of 2 earlier posts he chose to continue to ignore, one being the applicable laws regarding knowingly hiring illegals (which Tancredo did not do), post #1793, by Spiff, which is the history of Tancredo's legal hiring of contractor, and post #1820, which summarizes numerous earliers posts into one.
Not happy with that, now he's on to Tancredo changing his mind about applying term limits to himself. Apparently he also thinks Colorado voters had no right to vote in back into office time and time again AFTER he changed his mind. Or that Ronald Reagan is a hypocrite who shouldn't have switched parties from democrat to Republican, simply because he changed his mind either.
But I know the facts won't get in the way of PRND's maligning Conservative Reupublican Tom Tancredo.
You're getting warmer...
Sorry. Didn't mean to infringe on your material.
You sent the first Freepmail, as you know.
P.S. Tom will never win a Nation wide election. Rightfully.
Nobody mentioned race but you...as usual.
