ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- According to court documents, a congressman under investigation for bribery was caught on videotape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant.

The court document was released on Sunday. FBI agents allegedly later found the cash in the freezer of Louisiana Congressman William Jefferson.

Jefferson, who represents New Orleans, has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing.

The new details about the case emerged after federal agents searched Jefferson's congressional office on Capitol Hill Saturday night and Sunday.

Jefferson's lawyer said he is accusing the government of conducting "a public relations agenda."

Considering Nagin got elected again I wonder how many people will pull a Marion Barry with this guy if he decided to run again, I bet he would get a minimum of 40%...

He was saving it to turn it over to the FBI once he completed his own sting operation! Seriously!

It is my contention that Duke Cunningham would still be in congress if he was a democrat!

When it comes to democrats, there's no way of figuring out their logic but Jefferson won't be eligible to run for office again until after he serves time in the big house. The feds have nailed him good.

N.O. had two sorry choices for mayor, Nagin & Landrieu. I find it amusing that Howard Dean campaigned for Landrieu.

Hey, give the guy a break. As he's a 'Rat, it was probably a reverse sting or something. You know he's lokin' out for the people and the NG werer too happy to help in the Katrina aftermath.

Is this the same US Congressman who used a heliocopter during the Katrina rescue to recover a laptop from his house?

More likely a double triple reverse reverve sting in the process here.

He takes the money from the FBI knowing that they are FBI, uses the money to buy drugs from the FBI, sell the drugs to the FBI to get The FBI's money back then offers the FBI the money to catch them the FBI in a FBI sting.

Of course he did all of this on the way to cast his vote in the congress so he could not be proscuted.

Birds of a Feather:

Carol Mosely-Braun
Marion Berry
Jessie Jackson
Members of the Black Caucus
Cynthia McKinney
Mayor Ray Nagin etc......

Apparently African- American before just American for America is the criteria/agenda. I know of no other race in America that elects people who are not in the least interested in the bigger picture, what's best for America or who have demanded equality then when achieved, they segregate themselves further not only from fairness but also from country. Putting the colored race in power in any form does not bode well for the United States.

(the price of gas and William Jefferson)

Democrat William Jefferson of Louisiana must be relieved of his congressional office - a flim-flam man/woman does not belong as a representative of my government.

>>Every time I hear "William Jefferson" I expect "Clinton" to come next.

To avoid confusion and to give Clinton as much respect as he deserves, I propose that we always refer to Clinton as "Billy Jeff."
